He's definitely the most important player in this team, the only one with a good idea of how to play the offensive. We saw five sets and a close match four days ago, which ZAKSA could have even won. That is why I don't understand why this handicap is set this high. It's also paid very well. ZAKSA had amazing 41 errors in the first game, if they had two or three less, they probably would have won. Trentino did nothing do earn my trust, the only difference between this and the first match is location. ZAKSA said nothing is done yet, they can deal with the Italians and I believe they will fight till the end, regardless of the form from last matches. This match is particularly important for Koblenz and their bid to avoid relegation since they are now only one spot ahead of the danger zone and with the same number of points as Celle, who are second to last in the table. That is the first reason for me to believe that both teams will be focused and concentrated throughout the match. Another reason is injury-struggles both teams are having. That has been a problem for Bietigheim all season long, even since they lost the key organizer Jurgutyt at the very start. She missed the whole season, while one of the pivots (Jorgesen) hasn't played since early February. The second pivot Hegy decided to retire early this year, which left Bietigheim wth only ten players in the last match.
Koblenz have problem this week as well - they will be without first choice goal keeper Zec today (got injured Wednesday). The second more serious injury was that of their top scorer Varga, who need to take some time off. She might play defense only today. Back player Sazdovski has the same type of injury like Varga, hers is only not that bad, meaning she will be on the team. Varga is Koblenz's top scorer with 65 goals, while Sazdovski has 35 so far.

Bayern beat Mitteldeutscher by 36 points home recently, Trier by 41, Ludwigsburg by 26, Tubingen by 37. Crailsheim are worse that any of those teams, with a bad defensive end. Bayern, on the other hand, have the best offense in the league. This is the worst moment for Crailseheim's visit to Munich and I expect the home team to win easy, by as many points as in the aforementioned games. Details

In three matches Henrik Dettman lead Besiktas, they beat Karšiyaka 81-79 in Izmir, lost at home to Galata 65-64, and beat Istanbul 81-77 after overtime. After Istanbul, Dettmann was talking about the defense, he was happy with how his team played against Jenkins, Vujačić and the rest. They played the last two well defensively, and I wouldn't comment the duel against Karšiyaka because their minds were on Europe and the Eurocup. What's important for Besiktas is that Lofton is out, and their offensive game is completely different when he's out. He takes 10-15 shots, mostly three-pointers, and scores most of them. At the same time, he's not physically strong enough to matter in the defense, and Besiktas look powerful now, with Broekhoff at three, and Holland at two. Those two can face any back player and wing, and I'm convinced they'll easily deal with Tucker today. On the other hand, TED come here after facing Fener at about 130 points. Coach Gören also talked about the defense, said they've been working on it, and he's happy with how it looked. Considering the circumstances, some absences in the home team, Besiktas changing their coach, I don't think this match can end at about 160 points. Details

Despite Svitolina's occasional good game against the best players, she's still not that level, whatever people say. She's a great player without a doubt, but she lacks reliability and stability. She was pretty relaxed in the last match against Jovanovski, just enough. She'd push harder when she was losing, and she'd win the set, but Jovanovski is miles away from Makarova. Makarova has mental strength and she knows how to keep her focus high during the entire match, which makes her reliable and secure. She lost to Timea, she didn't know why herself, but she was completely down physically by the end of the second set, and she couldn't resist and play well anymore. The last match Svitolina and Makarova played was in Sydney this year, and Makarova won convincingly. She wasn't completely secure in the first set, and could have lost it easily, but she didn't. Svitolina slowly dropped her focus in the second, Makarova did the opposite, and won convincingly. The first match Makarova played here was against Knapp, she crushed her in the first set, and relaxed in the second, investing just enough strength to end the set. I expect Makarova to play much better today, and her serve to be firmer. Svitolina will definitely resist well, but I think Makarova is better enough to win. Details

I've always liked Youzhny's tennis, but this season, it's just not good. Even though supposedly he can't fully heal an injury, his body language shows there are much bigger problems when he's playing. He's not energetic, or aggressive. His single-handed backhand isn't there, and he's standing behind the baseline too much. The only time he connected wins this year was in Zagreb. He was losing 4-2 to Kavčić in the third set then, and the Slovenian had another foot surgery afterwards. Youzhny defeated Hanescu at the Indian Wells, with only one tie-breaker. He defeated Golubev here, but the Khazak could make any coach feel super depressed. Even though he won the first set, he kept trying to hit winners, and sent short balls to the bottom of the net. Probably because of the ratio against Youzhny, which is now 6-1 in Youzhny's favor. But, what's more important in all that is that there was nothing new to see from Youzhny. He's still passive, and he won't be able to feast on Nishikori's mistakes. Kei is in the top now, and Youzhny looked powerless against Federer and Nadal this season. As for Nishikori, his only mistake was against Lopez, but the Spaniard is almost in the Top 10 again. Also, his left-handed serve is excellent, and can give a hard time to any player any day. Youzhny is only a shadow of a player he used to be. He's out of top 60, he says he doesn't plan on playing the challengers, and a lot of things point to him announcing his retirement by the end of the year. He can't match the best players anymore, and Nishikori is going to prove that. The fact that Kei was eliminated from the Indian Wells could actually be good for this bet. He's practicing at an academy close to Miami, and he's ready for these conditions. Details

Kanepi's two convincing win might suggest she's getting her form back, and we could see a good week. But, she defeated Abanda in the first round, a very bad player, and then Lepchenko in the second round. Lepchenko's got injury issues and is also playing badly. Wozniacki defeated Brengle here after losing to Bencic at the Indian Wells. Brengle's in a good form. Wozniacki doesn't feel too good in general when playing the Indian Wells, and Miami is a different story. As soon as Kanepi faces an opponent who can keep the rallies long, who's got clear and precise hits, she starts being frustrated and her game starts oscillating a lot. Wozniacki will take full advantage of that. Kanepi is in a disastrous form in general, especially mentally, and a player like Wozniacki will definitely not suit her. Having in mind that Wozniacki feels great in Miami, that she's playing great tennis, and that she's just better than Kanepi right now, I expect a convincing win, and Kanepi falling apart. Details

There are no mysteries in the top of the Norwegian league table before the last round of the national championship. Larvik secured the champion title a few rounds ago, and after their last duel against Byasen on Wednesday, the title was officially served to Larvik's players. They continued celebrating and didn't have to practice in the last two days. Tertnes beat Halden in an away match in the last round, and secured the bronze. They'll get their medals today, which is why we think their guests won't ruin the celebration, which would mean Larvik won't win by double-digit difference. We can expect the guests to not focus fully, and fight maximally, something they usually do. The second thing is that their tradition shows Tertnes rarely lost by over ten goals difference. The first match they played this season, on Larvik's court, ended by -6 (22-28), it was -8 and -12 last season, and another one that Tertnes, surprisingly, won. There's one more match Larvik won in the Norwegian cup, by +8 (30-22). Dallas also have no room for error, as a fumble here would probably lose them the playoff, since there are background 'players' waiting for them to make a mistake. Calgary are playing a tough game today, and most likely won't take two points away from them, so Dallas might draw closer. They played one less match than the Jets and a win here would get them closer to the playoff. Likewise, a defeat would reduce their chances to pure theory. Edmonton took some points lately, but it's due to this part of the season, mostly in relaxed duels against teams who are out of the playoff race. I spoke of their roster issues in the last pick, they're missing captain and main defender Ference, and defensive center Gordon. To make things worse, defender Fayne also got injured in the last round, meaning they'll have to call fudge some solution, and have already called in a substitution from the AHL. Dallas are the team in best form in the league over the past 10 games, and playing great defense, which is important for this match. They also have quality and motivation on their side, which I judge to be crucial for this bet. Details

Gimnasia are a pretty bad team when playing away, but I still cannot agree with these odds. The visitors, who are in much better form, are aiming for spot two. Their three-point efficiency is particularly impressive, with Scala and others punishing untimely defense every time. Precisel that is the problem at Penarol. They are not that tough at center positions and tend to have clusters in defense, which creates problems against teams capable of settling the game through semi and far-distance shots. Gimnasia are definitely one of those teams. They have not done the last two matches badly, especially the one against Obraso. Konstzadt is doing great but even he will most likely not be able to get past Gimnasia's defense. Boccia had the fever yesterday an might not play today. Without him, Penarol don't stand a chance. Both teams are equal in the paint quality-wise, with visitors maybe having the upper hand because Clancy is capable of dealing with Penarol's tall players. Backcourt positions should make the difference here and Gimnasia are much better in that segment. They are in excellent form and I don't see a way for Penarol to win this easily. Details
