    I have an impression that Tremblay are doing the rest of the season; there's been a lot of talk about players arriving, they brought Slovenian Miklavcic, they dug out some Khazahstani, there's a lot of talk of numerous leavings and I think their focus is not the way it should be. Last four matches ended up with 66, 63, 61 and 61 goals. Now they're off to Nantes who are in the best period of the season, they've secured Europe, they're after the Champions League... They're playing with no pressure, they have no problems with injuries, they're enjoying the games. They played the last two matches on their home court, with Montpellier in the semi-finals of the Cup it was 64 goals, and with Nimes in the league it was 58 goals. All of that creates a good base for another meeting which should gravitate towards 60 goals... Details

    Although the results from other meetings show us that this is an unpredictable and quite equal league, the difference here is still big. The match is on later because of the CEV cup finals which Trentino had on Saturday in Moscow. Although they won in Moscow they didn't get to take the trophy because they lost the golden set. They're playing great this year, and in the first match Dinamo were incredible; that's why they came to Moscow with a backlog. Next to the CEV Cup finals this season they also lost the home cup against Modena. Still, looking at the entire season they can be pleased because they raised their game level a lot. And now starts the important part, the league playoffs. They confirmed the great season with the first place after the regular part and thus evaded Modena and Macerata all up to the finals, and in the semi-finals the opponents (Verona/Perugia) are more than good, while Molfetta don't have a chance to surprise them. Kaziyski and Lanza have an excellent season on reception and they are the main players of this team. Zygadlo quickly returned after last year's injury and he's again at his best. There are a lot of substitute players for the position of the opposite where Nemec plays with a lot of oscillations. That's why they brought the great opposite Djuric. It won't take long for him to fit in., he already played for Trentino in their golden age. If you ask me, they're the favorites for winning the title.
    Molfetta made great results with reaching the playoffs, and they can relax. Although they beat Macerato and Trentino at home, out of their hall they rarely won and scored points. Torres, as the corrector, plays with a lot of oscillations, setter Hierrezuelo is nothing special, and the receivers have the most problems. Noda is an A2 players, while Sket is having a surprisingly good season. Everyone knows that the opposite is the main player and he has very bad percentages on the reception.
    If Trentino forgot their defeat in the CEV Cup and if the trip to Moscow didn't wear them out too much, they will win this without much trouble. The season starts now, so there's no justification for fatigue. Points handicap of -15.5 seems too high, so I'll take Trentino at 3-0 because of their excellent shape, and Molfetta didn't have a match in 10 days. Currently they're one step above Molfetta and I think they will show that today. Details

    What Pascual said describes best what we should see today. Barcelona's home Euroleague games mostly finished under this margin this season but things should be very different today. The stakes are extremely high, it's the first game of the QF series and they are set to meet the top Euroleague defense today. Olympiacos are even more focused on defense away, limiting the mighty CSKA to only 76 points recently. They will use the same strategy today. With or without Spanouis, I expect them to struggle against Barcelona, who have two great defense players Oleson and Satoranski. I think this is the game in which both teams will struggle to go over 75 points. It's the start of the series and this should turn into the war of defensive ends. Details

    I think these odds are mostly a consequence of an opinion that Khimki don't need to win, and that Nizhny need one. However, Novgorod practically lost all chances for the Top Four, and for the fifth place they need a single win. Until the end they're up for away games against Nymbruk and Jenisej, and it's hard to expect that they won't win. On the other hand, Khimki are in an identical position; they also need one win for the second place, and at the end of the month they're up for final clashes in the Eurocup and Kurtinaitis wants to win today. That would enable them to prepare for the first match and I expect them to have full motive for today's match. Besides, Khimki won't allow themselves another bad match in front of their fans like it happened against Jenisej, which was a consequence of a very narrow rotation. Kurtinaitis was especially disappointed with the end of the match, but today he will have Koponen and Davis available, who are next to ice among the most important players this season. Popovic's and Honeycutt's absences won't be so important because they've been struggling with injuries for a long time and Khimki are used to play without them. And lastly, they will have enough motives against Nizhny, especially after last season. As for the away team, Rochestie's absence is worth more than everyone else together.     Confidence. That is what Nadal is constantly looking for. His legs and forehand are not the problem - approach that is not the same due to fragile confidence is. If there is a place where he can feel like the top player, that's Monte Carlo and Paris. He has 8 straight titles ehre and 50 wins. Granted, he lost the last two matches but to Ferrer and Djokovic, which is far more acceptable than losing to Fognini and Verdasco, which happened to him this year. The point is, he has every reason to feel a victor here. He is now set to face Pouille, who has potential but his style should suit Naddal greatly. Pouille was indoors last Saturday and beat Thiem here. Interestingly, his only ATP wins on clay are against Thiem. It was a match ridden with mistakes as half of the 20 games ended as breaks. Poullie was tougher and managed to win the end. I don't see anything in his game that could work against Nadal at this point. If Pouille had rhythm on clay, things wold be different. There will probably be some close games, Pouille might fire some good winner but the once Nadal finds rhythm, he will finish things easily here. In 11 Monte Carlo tournaments, Nadal didn't stay on this margin only 12 in the first matches. That was against Nieminen and Clement nine years ago. Pouille has only 5 ATP matches on clay in his carrier. Details
