    The most important part of the season in Israeli league is about to start for Maccabi. Everything up until was about Euroleague. They were knocked out to Fener after dealing with massive injury-struggles. But still, Maccabi won the last 4 games, only one of which by 9 and all the others by a double-digit point difference. They played Ironi 12 days ago and won 86-74 home. Coach Goodes didn't have the injured Randle and Tyus to count on as well as the suspended Sofoklis. That means the entire front court was out. All three of them were back for the win over Maccabi Ashod last week. Randle scored 15 points in 31 minutes, Tyus 22 in 14. They are clearly fine. Sofoklis was given 9 minutes. The only bad news ahead of the playoffs is the injury of Landsberg, who was in great form and whose season is over. Pargo, Haynes, and Ohayon are there though. Maccabi met Ironi three other times this season. They won home by 39 points, away by 12 and at Supercup tournament in Jeruzalem by 16. Ironi slipped into the playoffs from spot 8 even though they lost the last two and 5 out of the last 7 games. Since Bnei lost the last two, Ironi got in on account of having one win more. That is still not a particularity special accomplishment since there are only 12 clubs in the Israeli league. Details

    I think Helios are underestimated here and in my opinion, they are the favorites in the semifinals.Their great form in the previous games is finally obvious and they should have won Game 1 home. That game was settled in the close finish when Rogaska scored in the final attack. Helios won Game 2 in Domzale easily. They knocked out Olyimpia to get here, they are fast and score a lot of three pointers, and one good shooting percentage could see them win. They also have more players to choose from and that could be very important in this game. Helios were dominant in both Game 1 and 2 in rebounding and I don't know why Rogaska are the favorite here. They do well home, that's true, but I think Helios have a much better chance of reaching the final. I've decided for this safer option but the more courageous among you can bet on Helios winning too.     Mladenovic is far better in doubles than in singles this season. She is prone to slips as she's been proving this season and throughout her carrier. She won the doubles title in Rome yesterday and now has to adapt to the next tournament only one day later. Parmentier wasn't having a good season but her performances at the last tournament give her hope. She recorded three wins, beat Gavrilova in straight sets, and we know very well what Gavrilova did in Rome last week. Parmentier can cause trouble for Mladenovic with deep shots and she can force her into a lot of mistakes in these conditions. Details
