    In the last 20 home matches, France were defeated only twice, and they often crushed their opponents. We'll mention the most important - official matches: Brazil 31-16 (17-7), Lithuania 37-20 (21-7), Switzerland 31-23 (19-9), Macedonia 35-24 (17-10), The Czech Republic 41-25 (20-12), Turkey 31-23 (17-10), Norway 32-28 (15-10). I went four years back - not something I do - but in this case it's important because it shows the team's character, and Karabatic and Omeyer have been the team leaders in the last 10 years. So, the fact that they crushed Brazil at the opening of the championship is no surprise, that's how they do it in official matches at home. Those are all teams stronger than Japan.
    Russia took the lead against Japan 7-1, they had 5-6 points of difference during the first half, and they won at half-time with +3 thanks to defense's indolence. They struggled for 10 minutes in the second half, but in the end it was -10. Japan don't have a lot of comparable matches, Qatar crushed them three times by half-time (9-16, 8-18, 9-14, two friendlies), and once they stood up to them (12-15). That Qatar and Russia are the closest comparison to France, even though a lot lower than they are.
    I won't lie, they showed a good side in the offense in the game against Russia, that's intriguing, but the defense is non-existent. I don't see another option that France's full domination. All types of handicap are good, as well as the France's team over. However, I'll take the half-time handicap because France's defense is good, and the second half they will probably spend without the main stars. Japan can't do better than Brazil, Switzerland, Macedonia, The Czech Republic... Details

    Group F is played in Friedrichshafen with Germany as the hosts, but even if they weren't, Croatia has nothing to do here. Last year Germany were fourth at WEVZA, and considering that all of the teams from that competition are playing in these qualifications, we can say that the biggest quality is focused in them. They beat Switzerland who are an uncomfortable team with 3-1 (25-15, 25-16, 22-25, 25-19), and France 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-20), and lost only to the strongest of teams, and not without a fight. Against Belgium (silver) it was 1-3 (25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 16-25), and the champions Italy also 1-3 (21-25, 20-25, 25-23, 17-25), while in the fight for the third place they lost to Spain with 2-3. They did serious preparations before the qualifications. They hosted France, and despite the two losses (1-3, 2-3), the impression is more than great. On the other hand we have Croatia who are known by their weak work with younger teams from various reasons, and that reflects on the results. At MEVZA's championship by the end of last year they were sixth in a competition of seven teams. They only won in two games, and that was against the weak Slovakia (in the group), and the bottom-placed Austria, and Slovakia paid them back in the match for the fifth place. What's especially noticeable are the defeats by Israel 1-2 (23-25, 14-25, 28-26), The Czech Republic 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-17), and Slovakia 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-21) who are second class teams in this generation. The fact is that they were without the important receiver Hanzic, but the mentioned defeats were too convincing for one player to change all of that. We also have Croatia's results from the year before the last one, and then they were last at MEVZA's championship with one win in five games against an even more desperate Austria. Slovenia and Slovakia crushed them with 3-0, The Czech Republic with 3-1 with 14 points of difference, and Hungary did it with 33 even though they lost a set (24-26). I think the Germans will solve this in three sets with no problems. Details

    Chile have talked only about this game ever since they started preparing for the championship, knowing that this is their chance. Garralda said a long time that they will look for their chance in shooting from the distance. Belarus no longer have Rutenka who lead them into a win in Doha against Chile 34-23. Chile put up a good fight until half time (14-11). Chile have three Feuchtmann brothers, some important players and they believe they can do much better. Last year at the Panamerican in Argentina, they stood up to Argentina and Brazil, who are close to Belarus. It was 12-13 and 13-7 at half times of that game. Chile mostly got limited under this margin in Doha and fell apart in the second half. Belarus are physically tough in defense and will be able to defend Chile. It's important that they no longer have the offensive strength they have, which is obvious from the last test games where they rarely went over 25. If they could got limited to 25 two years ago and I expect similar outcome today in the most important game for both teams. Who ever loses this will no longer have their faith in their own hands and that will complicate things. Chile want a surprising win here, they have been preparing for this for long .
