The ultimate goal for both of these teams is getting spot 5 here to get into Europe next season. By getting eliminated in the QFs to Erdo, Siofok fell short of the expectations. Just a few days later, the coaches and the players were told that the result is disappointing. At the end, they were told that good performances and that getting a spot in Europe are expected in the 4 remaining games.
Siofok had 12 points more than their opponents in regular season. Alcoa managed to reach spot 8 in the very last round. In head-to-head games of this season, Siofok won home 24-21, while Alcoa got a win in early March (29-23) unexpectedly easily. The reason for Siofok's defeat was looked for in their top scorer and team captain not being there to help. She was suspended for alleged abuse of illegal substances.
- We were confused before the game since we lost one of top players - Siofoko's pivot said the day before the first game against Alcoa.

Siofok beat Erdi twice (28-24, 32-20) and Vaci once (26-24) in the aforementioned 4 games, while losing to Erdi in the QFs second leg. Both of those teams are better than Alcoa. Fehervar lost to Gyori in the QFs as expected (20-32,25-34) and then played the final tournament of the Hungarian cup last weekend. They lost to Erdi 23-25 in the semis and got trashed by Ferencvaros in the game for spot 3 the next day (19-40). This will be their 3rd game in 5 days and the fact is, they didn't have much time to prepare for it. They don't have to win this and don't have as many good players as the opponents. The home team should take advantage of that to get at least a 5-goal lead in this first leg game.
