Kiel probably without Weinhold

Weinhold is a very important right back who hasn't fully recovered from an arm fracture. He tried to practice but it didn't go well. But he did play with that fracture in Barcelona which is why we cannot rule him out here. Chema Rodriguez will allegedly be back on the Hungarian team

This will be Kiel's 6th time in Cologne. They played 3 finals and won the title 2 times. They are a bit overshadowed by the competition today but history teaches us that such situation often helps. No one gave Flensburg any chance two years ago but that didn't stop them from beating Kiel in the final. No one gave Hamburg any chance and they beat Kiel in the final and Barcelona in the semifinals after having to play the Wild Card tournament to even get into Champions League that season. 

- You need luck to win this tournament. I was at Hamburg, anything can happen here - Duvnjak said. 

- We want to win this even more than previous seasons since we won nothing this year. It was a complicated season. We had a lot of injuries and we are not favorites like Paris or Veszprem. 

The injuries are still destroying Kiel. Lackovic and Toft Hansen are out for sure, Weinhold most likely won't be there either even though they hoped otherwise. 

- He tried at the practice session but it didn't work out. Things are looking bad when ti comes to the chance for him to play - Gislason said. He will base his lineup on Duvnjak, Dissingen, Canellas and left handed Vujin. We do need to note that Marko was never the player for big games. 

- Everyone has to play and everything needs to come together - Gislason said. His team played two tough games with the Hungarians in the group stage. 

It was 25-24 in Kiel, while they lost 29-27 in Hungary. 

- We beat Barcelona and we can beat any other opponents - director Storm said.

Kiel don't have the team as fast as previous seasons and unlike in the second semifinal, we will most likely see a lot of zone game. The Germans rely on the 3-2-1 a lot as it can throw Ilic and even Nagy off rhythm. If that works, their chances for the win are much higher than the bookies expect. 

Veszprem confirmed their dominance in Hungary last weekend to win their 4th trophy this season (all three of Hungarian titles and the SEHA league). But everyone knows what the main goals is. Just like the last seasons, Veszprem reached the Final Four and now finally want to make it to the top. 

- We want Champions League, everything else would be a big disappointment - Palmarsson said.

This will be the third straight season in which they face Kiel in the semis. After the German team beat them in QFs three years ago and in the semis two years ago, Veszprem had their revenge last year but only to see Barcelona beat them in the final.

- I think the team is ready. The guys worked hard throughout the season. We are focused on Kiel. We know it will be tough. It a game in which anything can happen - coach Sabate said. He should have Rodriguez back at his disposal.

This will be the third head-to-head meeting of the season. Each team won home so far which means the fact this is played in Cologne suits Kiel more even though quite a lot of Hungarian fans are expected there too.

The teams know each other very well and this could be decided by the littlest details. Veszprem are favorites to some extent for a reason, though. They will rely on their defense heavily with a special task of stopping Duvnjak. That would see them get most of the job done even though we need to point out that Kiel beat Veszprem without the Croatian middle back. 

- Both know each other shortcomings and strong suit. I think pace control will be crucial - Gulyas said.

- We'll have to play like in the first half - Ugalde said.
