If you ask me, Japan are the Olympic Games candidates. They hve the advantage of the home court and they will get on nerves of their opponents with their defense, and a lot will depend on the serve with which they can do a lot of work, and thus a bad block for the opponents' ideal reception wouldn't be so prominent. Shimizu had a great season with Panasonic, and Ishikawa is ready and has no injury problems he had at the World Cup last year. Thus the main offense players are ready and the setter's fast game will create problems for everyone. Venezuela did most of the preparations without their first player Pinerua who had obligations in LIanon and only joined the team a week ago. They came to Tokyo very late, only two days before and jetlag could take some of their strength away, because they don't have the quality to stand up to good teams. Japan beat them there 3-0 in a game of equals and they didn't cover this handicap of points, but this time some things favor Japan even more, who have calmly prepared for this spectacle, and Venezuela are up for hell.
