France could give Norway a hard time

Norway got snapped back to reality by Spain, and France has beaten Romania

Norway's easygoing approach came back to bit them in the... Spain came and took what was offered. The hosts tried to come back twice, but they didn't have the strength nor the focus to turn things around in the end.

Spain continued playing well. After beating France, they suprisingly took an early lead, 8-4. The hosts seemed to have been shocked. They were trying to catch up any way they could think of how, but it just wasn't working. Grimsbo couldn't connect two good defensive actions in a row.

A big problem they had were the technical faults caused by the fast game. They were okay regarding efficiency, but after losing some shots, the guests used the fast breaks to score easily. Those cheap goals can make you lose motivation, especially in women handball.

By the end of the first part, Norway couldn't catch up by +4 that Spain had.

Still, the hosts had a hurricane start of the second half, and quickly got to 19-19. They forced a fast game again and everything that happened in the first part happened again. 

Norway were one goal behind by the end of the game, but they had a technical fault in the offense again, and that was it. Dark hit six, and Herrem seven goals.

Norway will play their last game against France who crushed Romania. Maybe the final result doesn't really paint the picture, but they were leading 10-1 15 minutes in. Their defense was rock solid, and Romania really missed their best player, Neagu, who spent the whole game at the substitutes' bench.

When you get that result, they relaxed, and that's not that common for them. The first half ended at 13-7.

The second half was an evened out fight. Krumbholz gave all of his players a chance, so they'd be more rested against the hosts today. They got the win, 24-18, and will now face Norway. 

- We were much more dynamic than in the first game. I have to say I'm content with the win, and some younger players got a chance, too. I hope we can continue with this rhythm against Norway - Krumbholz said.

Pineau hit four goals and Dembele six.

Norway and France played three games in the last two years. Norway won twice, and France once. Today, France will get another chance to try and beat the tricky opponent, and nothing feels better than to do it on the opponents' court.
