Banvit played ten games in the pre-season, and got seven wins. They lost to Efes, Besiktas and AEK, opponents stronger than the one today. They beat Krka (+25), Jiangseu (+20), Laško (+31), Kuban (+7), Tofaš (+2), Trabzon (+11), Istanbul (+13). They started the league with three wins, Karsiyaka on the road (+18), then Darussafaka at home in the overtime (+5), and then Galata on the road (+9). They played two away games in the Champions League, and beat Ironi (+13) and Fraport (+16).
Demir played nine pre-season games, and lost three. They crushed Trabzon in the league, then barely beat Balikesir, but those results don't really work for this bet. Their real comparison of strength against Banvit can be seen in the last round they played at home. Tofas crushed them (-23).
Banvit's handicap of 8.5 points seems like a great pick with all being said. They showed quality in the season so far, and Demir are struggling against stronger teams. Banvit also have the home court advantage, which also works for this bet.
The whole match handicap is a better option than the first half handicap. Even though Banvit mostly crushed their opponents in the pre-season in the first half, they only did it in the first two games of the seasons, and were weaker in the first half of the next three games, so therein lies the danger.
