Barcelona's first center suspended

The already terrible season has been plagued by injuries, and Barcelona decided to make things worse by suspensions. The away team from Belgrade will definitely try to take that advantage in the hunt for the playoffs

It seems incredible that tonight's hosts have no result imperative because they're out of Euroleague while the away team are still fighting for the playoffs. This is the result of Barcelona's criminally bad season which can't seem to end soon enough. The last fail was the hardest, in the derby against Real. They recorded their third defeat by Real this season, the second one in only ten days, and it's clear how painful this is for Barcelona.

On Wednesday Barca again didn't managed to record 70 points despite the 14 recorded three-pointers, and that tells us enough about their desperate offense. Frustrated coach Bartzokas got into a verbal fight with referee Lamonico during the match, which earned him to be sent off. His comment was full of alibis:

- Not every season can be successful. It happens even to the best teams. This season we had 12-14 injuries, and it's impossible to avoid bad results in such conditions. We were without Doellman and Faverani against Real. But we have to forget this and dedicate ourselves to the following games.

Trouble rarely comes alone, so for today's game Ante Tomic got suspended because he hit Carroll in the head with his elbow. It's hard to say if it was on purpose, but Euroleague's verditc is final.

Doellman and Faverani are still struggling with injuries, so it's possible that Barca will only have Diagne in the paint, and he's quick on fouls, and that's something Zvezda's experienced centers will know how to use.

Zvezda are still in the race for the playoffs, but they missed a chance to jump off from Darussafaka on Wednesday against Olympiacos. At half-time the game looked lost, but the euphoria of fans and the great defense brought Zvezda into the position to snatch a win. They didn't manage in the end, they had to go into overtime, they complained of some referee's decisions, even though it's fair to say they deserved to lost.

In some other circumstances before the trip to Barcelona, they would leave all chances behind, but since Barca are far from good this season, Zvezda are even the favorites in this game, and favorites in today's match even though coach Radonjic won't agree with that:

- We had a tiring job with Olympiacos and now we have to devote ourselves to Barcelona, even though we'll spend a lot of time on the road. Barcelona have a great team, great players, even though they're struggling with injuries.

In the last couple of days Stefan Jovic was all over the media as the possible Barcelona transfer. Zvezda rejected that.

Due to back injuries, Jovic could be questionable for this game.
