Toronto won both games in Canada last season

Both teams opened their season with wins. The Cavs beat the Knicks, while the Raptors dealt with the Pistons lead by De Rozan

The Raptors and DeMar DeRozan couldn't wait for the new season to start. DeRozan was particularly motivated after being well below the necessary level last season. He was slowly improving form in preseason, having scored 11, 15, 20 and 34 points. He hit 40 in the first regular season game as the Raptors recorded a 109-91 win.

- We need to find rhythm in regular season now.

DeRozan hit carrier-high point in that game. He went 17/27 and had a perfect record from the three-point line. Jonas Valanciunas went 10-for-15 to hit 31 points. He also had 11 rebounds. They became the first due in the history of the league that had a 40+30 record at season start. DeRozan beat Carter's record in number of points in the first game. 

- I never follow that during the game. They told me afterwards.

The Raptors took lead 5 minutes into the first quarter after which they never fell behind. They hit 54 points in the pain which is not an easy thing to do against Drummond. As for the rest of the team, Lowry could have done better (10 points). If they want to stand a chance against the Cavs, he will have to do better than 3-for-13 shooting.

The Cavs got their championship rings ahead of the first game for the first time in 52 years. LeBron James and his teammates went on to play the new Knicks, who are still lead by Melo but who also have Rose, Jennings, Noah...

The Cavs recorded a 117-88 win and LeBron opened the season with a triple-double record (19 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists). It was his 43rd triple-double. 

- This was a great, emotion-charged moment. It was tough to focus on the game after the ceremony but we did a great job regardless - James said.

Kyrie Irving hit team-high 29 points, 19 of which in the third quarter when Cleveland went on a 20-4 run to get 19 points ahead. The last member of the Big Three (Love) did well too with 23 points and 12 rebounds. 

Jefferson recorded double digits as well (13 points) while everyone else but Thompson scored. Bad news is, after the clash with Porzingis in the third quarter, Shumpert was carried from the floor with a suspicion of a concussion. He is therefore questionable for this game. The Cavs beat Toronto 4-2 last season in conference final but they lost both regular season games in Canada.
