The Blazers had no problems with the Nuggets defense last season

Even though they couldn't count on Lillard in 3 out of 4 games, the Blazers hit 104 each time against Denver

The Nuggets might not reach the playoffs but they are definitely one of the more interesting teams to follow this season. Coach Malone put three players over 208 centimeters on the floor in the first game of the season (Galinari, Nurkic, Jokic). Guards Mudiay and Barton aren't short either. 

- We will keep on doing what's best for us. You will see a lot of different lineups - coach Malone said.

His team got back from New Orleans with a 107-102 win in spite the fact Anthony Davis recorded 50 points, 16 rebounds, 7 steals, 5 assists and 4 blocks. 

- When you play a great player, you need to decided whether you'll give him full attention and create problems somewhere else or you'll give him the chance to get his numbers and close everything else - Mike Malone said. He chose the second option, which turned out to be a good one.

Jusuf Nurkic scored team-high 23 points on the Nuggests (9-for-13) and added 9 rebounds in just 26 minutes. Will Barton was good as well, hitting 22 points (7-for-12 from the floor).

- I just tried to be aggressive and attack, whether I scored points or enabling other to do so - Barton said. He was given a start instead of Harris, who is questionable tonight as well. 

It will be interesting to see how the Nuggets will defend Lullard, who said his personal goal is the MVP title. It seems like he wasn't joking. He lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a win over Jazz with 39 points on Tuesday. Two days later, he recorded 29 points and 10 rebounds against the Clippers, but that was not enough so they lost 106-114 home. 

After hitting 13 out of 19 three pointers in the first game, the Blazers hit just 4 out of 18 on Thursday, which was one of the main reasons for their defeat.

- I think we were getting increasingly more frustrated because of some things. We should have done a better job. This is not something we want to do again - Lillard said. 

He missed two out of three meetings with the Nuggets last season. He combined 51 points against them and his team won three times, which is not wonder since they hit at least 104 points in each of them.
