Bonucci to watch the Porto match from the stands

After a fight with Bonucci, Allegri decided to punish him by leaving him off the team for the Porto match

Porto knocked Roma out in Champions League qualifiers and now want to eliminate the top Italian team. Juventus are the favorites on paper but Porto should definitely not be underestimated. They recorded just one defeat in 8 Champions League games of this season and are currently on a 6-game winning run that saw them get just a point short of Benfica in the championship.

No opponents managed to beat Porto at Dragao this season and their coach wants to keep that going:

- We are to play a great game between 2 of top 16 European teams. This is Champions League and a game against great opponents. We'll go to Dragao very confident, we want that energy and we want to transform it on the pitch. We know that you cannot underestimate anyone in football. We are to play a demanding match against a team we respect a lot. They are great, but we want to stand up to them by doing our best. We want to keep on growing. Porto are ready and very motivated. We are ready for a fight for 180 minutes. 

Porto have not have any major injury struggles over the past few weeks, which has definitely helped them to go on this winning run. Nuno Espirito Santo has been using the 4-1-3-2 formation in CL this season, with Pereira as a defensive midfielder. He is expected to go with the same formation today.

Juventus have been unreachable for all of their Serie A opponents this season. They have a 7-point lead before Roma and the record-breaking Higuain transfer over the summer proved that they now want to take things to the next level in CL. Over the past few weeks, rumors of Allegri leaving the team over the summer have been swirling. He wants to leave but with a triple title, which Mourinho did at Inter at one point. We can't say Juventus are playing a brilliant offensive oriented game this season but the team is still winning even when the game is not ideal. Following a win to Fiorentina mid-January, Juventus went on a 7-game winning run. In the last 5 games, Buffon conceded just one goal. Palermo's midfielder Chochev managed to score in the last minutes of the game but Higuain and others scored 4 goals before that. Tempers have boiled over after that game as Allegri and his key defender Bonucci started fighting. 

Allegri decided to punish Bonucci by leaving him in the stands today:

- Nothing new has happened since Friday. I talked to Leo and there is no problem. He will watch this from the stands. I made a decision and I believe it was the right one. I think I can make decisions regarding players and that's it. 

Allegi has a lot of respect for Porto:

- They are the best runner-ups in Champions League, they are a great team and they are used to playing these kind of games. We need to be focused on our goals. There are tensions because we want to win Champions League, the title in the league and the Italian cup.

Allgri has been using the 4-2-3-1 formation the past few weeks and will probably do the same today. Center backs Chiellini and Barzagli are back but might not be completely ready for such a game. Bonucci should be in the stands which means Benatia and Chiellini should start as center backs.
