France are the favorites in this game and I believe they will win and secure the top spot. They will not allow themselves another surprise like the one against Slovenia. Slovenia play 5-1 defense which disturbed France's offense, while Denmark play 6-0 against which France have many solutions. I don't think France can repeat the black hole they had against Slovenia, they scored only 1 goal in the last 11 minutes. Denmark cannot win the top spot because Slovenia have already won, they can only be second with a win and third with a defeat. If they finish second (and if they defeat Hungary or Faroe Islands in the round of 16) they will face Spain in the quarter-final, but if they finish third, they will face Norway and then Iceland or Croatia. Since Denmark have a better record against Norway and Iceland/Croatia then against Hungary and Spain, I think that will be on their minds today, and they will not try as hard as they could. France should use that, because they are fighting for the top position and avoiding Germany and Spain until the semi-final.
Overall number of France's goals seems like a good bet to me, they have shown that the inefficiency against Slovenia was a fluke and a result of Slovenia's great defense. Out of France's last 26 official games, 18 went over 30 goals, and two were at 30. They did not go over against Spain. And they had no need for thrashing against Japan, Brazil and Switzerland because they had a great lead and could slow down. In friendly games ahead of this competition they scored 34 to Switzerland, 24 Germany, 31 and 32 Spain, 38 and 34 Iceland. At this tournament they did not go over only against Slovenia.
Denmark do not concede a lot of goals, but they are always around today's margin against offensively oriented teams. None of those teams are as offensively powerful as France. In their friendly games in the past year they conceded 31 twice against Croatia, 32 to Netherlands, at last year's EC they conceded 32 to Croatia, 31 Norway, 28 Iceland. Only Slovenia scored over this margin against them at this tournament.
I believe France will record an easy win and I don't think they will allow themselves to have a bad day like the one against Slovenia, and they should score a lot of goals as well, similar to their previous head-to-heads in Denmark last year, where France won 37-32 and 31-18.
