Coach Bauerman prefers tough and aggressive game style. Last year, he took over Wurtzburg mid-season and improved the defense. This summer they limited opponents to lower numbers. They lost to Lietuvos away 66-71, to Siauliai 70-74, and beat fast-paced Telekom 71-67 on neutral grounds. The only problem is the AEK game which they lost 85-87 but AEK played super-fast in preseason (beat Bayreuth 90-85, Spirou 98-91, Braunschweig 100-97, yesterday UNICS 88-85). Istanbul BB had many ups and downs last season and didn't change that in preseason. They went high with offense-oriented teams and lower with those less offense-oriented. They played 59-58 with Sakary Buyuksehir in the last test game and earlier lost to Ludwigsburg 72-81. This is the first out of two games in FIBA Europe Cup 1st round qualifiers and will definitely not have overtime. An intense finish is not likely either.
