Cuevas' coach: Pablo has enough power to beat Ferrer

The Spaniard had a great start against Olivo to add another win to his now 16-0 record in the last 4 visits to Buenos Aires. Cuevas beat Ramos and Giraldo in straight sets. He beat 4 Top 20 players last season, one of whom is in Top 10 (Berdych)

Buenos Aires is the first clay court tournament for Ferrer this season, but that caused him no worries since he has three titles in three visits here (2012-2014). All of those were his first clay court tournaments of the season. Ferrer beat Olivo easily in the first round even though the Argentine opened the season brilliantly. He reached AO second round and Quito quarterfinals. He was rather good in rallies against Ferrer but the Spaniard would still end up winning them. 

Ferrer had only one bad service game - the opening one. He saved the break point through a very good serve and went on to dominate. He allowed no other break points, while converting four of his (two in each set), for a truly easy win. 

- Even though this is my first match on clay court after a while, I felt well. I'm happy about the win and abut getting into QFs - the Spaniard said. 

Just like Ferrer put it - it was good given the fact that was his first match of the season on this surface. However, he is now to face a much tougher challenge. Hats of to Olivo but he is no ATP level. Cuevas has three ATP titles on clay court in the lat two seasons and has won both of his first matches here easily. 

He faced Ramos in the first round and ended up recording an easy win after a close first set. On top of playing very well, Cuevas got a bit of help by his Colombian opponent, who made far too many mistakes. That is something you cannot do against someone like Cuevas. Also, Pablo's serve was much better, getting him a lot of easy points. Al of that resulted in his easy win.

He is 0-2 against Ferrer but both of those matches are from 6 seasons ago. He is definitely a better player now but the Spaniard is also Top 10 and one of better players when it comes to this surface. However, Cuevas is not an easy opponent at all. He played 8 matches against Top 10 players and won 2. That's not at small number, especially knowing that he beat players like Tomic, Dimitrov and Karlovic and recorded one of those two Top 10 wins (Berdych) last season.

- It's a very good match to play. Pablo is in good form, he is getting better by the day. Ferrer will show him where he is at the moment since he's No,6. Pablo needs to play without any pressure. I believe in him because he has enough power, but he will need patience as well - Cuevas's coach said.
