Goffin trashed Troicki, Zeballos recorded another surprising win

The well-experienced Argentine got into the main draw as a lucky loser. After Del Potro, he went on to stun Verdasco, who lost despite finishing with 13 points more. Goffin, on the other hand, let Troicki get only two games in the last round, thus confirming brilliant form

Zeballos is an Argentine who is currently more focused on challengers than ATP level. He lost the last qualifying round here but with Federer pulling out, he made it into the main draw. To make matters even better, he was given the first round bye and then went on to make a few surprises. 

He recorded a big win over Del Porto but that wasn't it. Zeballos went on to beat Verdasco, who was a heavy favorite after the two valuable wins. 

The Spaniard once again proved to be unpredictable once again. Zeballos and him played an interesting match which at first didn't seem to close at all. Verdasco won the opener rather easily but then suffered a decline and ended up losing. The Argentine struggled with cramps and had to save one match point. He won the match even though he recorded 13 points less than his opponent. 

- My life got very different here. I got some valuable points and a good amount of money. I'm happy with this and I hope to be at some greater tournaments now - the Argentine said. 

Unlike Zeballos who spent over 2 hours on the court and already played 4 matches here, Goffin got this far much more easily. He also reached the Indian Wells semis recently to get into Top 15. 

Following a somewhat easy win over Granollers, Goffin beat Troicki in a much more convincing manner. He controlled everything from the start and won in under an hour. He was better at each segment. He won 59% of points on return. 

Belgian confirmed great form and he's the big favorite against Zeballos. He is much better rested on top of having better head-to-head record (won the last three meetings). Zeballos struggled with cramps, which has to be noted. 

Zeballos did win their first duel, but things turned around completely in the following three. Goffin won seven sets total up by 29 points, so over four points per set on average. Even though the Argentinian showed he's still got some moves here, Goffin's form is working for him, and anything but his win would be a big surprise for me. Indian Wells' semis boosted his confidence even more, and he left Troicki with two games here after beating Granollers. Zeballos' wins against Delpotro and Verdasco are valuable, but let's not forget how spent he got getting them, and I think he was even dealing with cramps by the end of the duel against the Spaniard. I think Goffin will be just too big of a bite for Zeballos right now, and that he'll win at least one set with a double break advantage.
