The Phillies pitcher is a tough hurdle for the Marlins batters

Miami scored their 100th defeat of the season, which makes them the second worst team in the league, which is not a nice experience at all. Their confidence is very low and another offensive debacle would not be strange

In a very boring and gloomy game, Philadelphia (52-85) managed to beat the Miami Marlins (58-100), handing them the 100th loss this season and continuing a disastrous season for the Marlins. Especially interesting was the first inning, when home team's starter Henderson Alvarez walked the first three Phillies batters, to which they replied with two runs, which was all the Phillies pitchers needed.

-I'm happy with every outing I have right now. It's been a long couple of years. I'm very grateful for the opportunity the Phillies are giving me. I get to start- said Miner, who did a great job on the mound today.

He will be gunning for his 100th career win.

-I know we have a lot to work on. If it doesn't fire you up and motivate you for the offseason, then I don't know what does. That's kind of what I'll take into the offseason: trying to win and trying to do my job even better. I think that's what we all have to do, have that pride, and knowing the fans want to see a winning team and the organization wants to see a winning team. I want to be a part of it- said Hamels.

Cole Hamels showed a lot in the second part of the season, and he should continue today against the worst offense in the league playing in desperate form. Away from home he was solid with a 3.40 ERA, while he is 9-12 with 3.16 ERA against Marlins. He has a great motive, a 100th career win, and a strong end to he season would mean a lot to him. In their last ten games, Miami has a 2,43 run average which is real bad, and it is important to point out they are worse against the lef-handed pitchers with a 2.18 run average. Hamels is better than Marlins at this point, no doubt about that, and it is hard to predict Marlins scoring 4 runs in this game.
