Midtjylland still undefeated in the championship

Midtjylland and Viborg playing a local derby for the first time since 2007

Midtjylland confirmed their great form by beating Nordsjaelland in the last round, which is their sixth win in the last eight rounds, making them the only undefeated team in the league. In an open and interesting game, both teams had their chances, but this season Midtjylland have specialized in scoring late goals, and took all three points by a goal from Igboun in the 78th minute. After the duel, coach Glenn Riddersholm used the megaphone to invite the fans to the first local derby vs Viborg since 2007.

-This is a game that attracts a lot of attention, and our chance to thank the fans for all the support they are giving us. We know how important this match is. We will use the confidence we have and go for all three points, as always. We have to get through a very compact team, the hardest thing to do in football. We expect Viborg to put up a deep defensive formation with ten players and a single forward. We have to be quick, lively, and penetrate whenever possible. It will be a meeting of two different styles. We respect Viborg, they have a good period behind them, and they are a strong team. They are well organized on the defense, efficient and physically fit- said the Midtjylland coach.

The roster at Riddersholm's disposal is the same one he had against Nordsjaelland. Important midfielder Uzochukwu is working off his suspension's second match, and another important midfielder, Anderson, has also been missing for a few games. Young Larsen is out as well, and important forward Janssen, midfielder Hassan and young Madsen and Oliseh have been missing since the season started.

As Riddersholm mentioned, Viborg have started very well in their returning Super League season. Only two defeats in the first eight rounds and three victories in the last four rounds, with a convincing defeat against Kopenhagen in between, make a very good result for a team that is slotted to fight to avoid relegation. They have had great success so far in a formation with Dalsgaard (seven goals) ahead and Stankov (two goals) slightly behind. The team is dangerous from fast counterattacks and free kicks, and are entering the derby in a good mood.

-This could be a great game, and we are looking forward to it. We know the fans are eager to see the duel and this will lift up the players. We have a young team that doesn't have a lot of experience in games like this one, and we have to find the right "voltage", We have our concept, and we must stick to it. We need to pick up our one-on-one game if we want to win. I believe we can do it. The game with Aarhus may not have been a masterpiece, but we won three points. On Saturday we have to focused, efficient and brave, and stick to our plan. If we succeed in doing so, we have a good chance. This is our most important game. Not because this is Midtjylland, but because this the next game. This is the way we need to think All points count, and that is what we need to focus on- said the guest coach Ove Christiansen.

Midtjylland were lucky this season to have good results even when their gameplay was bad. Since the case was opposite in the last season, they can say that their luck is holding out this year, and are in the lead on the table. They had a maximum score on their home field winning 4 out of 4. As it is stated in the announcement of the match, Viborg are also good this season, but I do not believe that coach Christensen´s young team can stand up to them. The home team announced a big derby match, and in front of a packed audience the confident Midtjylland will go for another three points, while Viborgs coach is trying to alleviate some of the pressure saying this is “just” a match. FCM already beat Kopenhagen, Nodsjaelland and Brondby, while Viborg against Kopenhagen (1-4) displayed weaknesses that the home team will definitely try to take advantage of today.
