The Germans dismantled Bulgaria, and are getting two more quality reinforcements

The Germans opened the Euro in style, with a 3-0 decisive victory. They put a hole in the Bulgarians in the first minute with a great three touch action, taking control of the match right away and keeping it throughout the game.

-The early goal did help, but we did well tactically, we were organized and efficient. We pressured Bulgaria in their half, that's our style-  said selector Sorg later, only criticizing a drop in rhythm over the last half hour.

This was their fifth straight handicap win, including Belgium (5-2) and Spain (3-1, in a decisive qualifying duel). Today they'll be even stronger, reinforced by a quality duel from Leverkusen, midfielder Oztunali and winger Brandt.

-Both are important starters and will help a lot in the remaining matches- commented the Elf starter.

The title defenders started the opposite way, conceding an early goal to Ukraine. They quickly equalized and remained a threat to the end, but not enough to score all three points.

- We dominated throughout the match, but were not fresh enough, which is to be expected, as the players just finished the preparations. We created some chances, and hit the post twice. Ukraine managed to defend, and deserve respect for their performance, as do we. It's been proven once again that those who think there are easy wins in this European Championship are wrong- said selector Paunović.

It's obvious that this generation can hardly repeat the success of the last year's, but the Serbian selector is looking forward to the Germans with optimism:

- I have a firm belief in our potential, and the fact we gave our best performances when things were toughest and it was most needed! We have a few players we're trying to recover, and we'll prepare for the match depending on their status.

Their best midfielder, Simić, is having trouble, and it remains to be seen if he will be ready, but they will definitely strengthen their defense - Babić from Vojvodina is no longer under suspension.
