Greece recorded a close win in the preparation game

Greece are physically superior to Italy, and that will be their greatest advantage today. But Italy's defense and the 'Mussidori' duo shouldn't be underestimated

The match between Italy and Greece might be described as the clash of good technical skills and raw force, with the Italians, of course, being the ones with better technical skills. They have so far in the tournament displayed the 'nicest' game. The team is lead by Mussini-Flaccadori, an excellent duo no team in the tournament managed to figure out how to stop. The two of them are scoring 58% of all Italian points in the tournament. One doesn't really need to be an expert to see which part of the Italian team is dangerous. The two of those have to be stopped no matter what, but given their speed and excellent shooting, it won't be an easy task.

But, not even those two managed to find a solution for physically more dominant opponents, such as Croatia in the second round final match. Mussini's three-pointers were keeping Italy alive in the first part, but Croatia then stepped it up, left Mussini without a point scored, while at the same time scoring 24 points (Italians only 4), which was enough for a very convincing win.

Even though these two teams have played a tight game (62-60) during the preparations, I don't see this one as a close game. Italy's only strength is their PG Mussini, while the Greeks are firing from all cylinders. From their point guard Stamatis, who will cause a lot of problems fro Mussini, to Charalampopoulos, who is dominating the shooting positions. The key to this game lies in the paint where the Greeks are the better team and I believe that will decide this game. Italy's great games aside, I don't see them being close to Greece.
