Bremen without a win the first eight rounds

It's high time Werder ended this bad streak if they want to avoid relegation at season's end. Koln ended their bad streak by beating Borussia Dortmund

The one thing Werder's players and fans don't particularly enjoy are games with Bayern. And this time around, the team from Bremen were on a losing run ahead of their trip to Munich, having conceded 18 goals in the last three matches. The losing streak continued, with Bayern taking the 4-0 lead by half time. But, Werder have no time to dwell on that defeat, being bottom-table and without a single win after eight rounds. They concede an average of almost three goals per game...

- Of course we feel pressure. It's quite normal in a situation such as this one. I expect my players to prove they can deal with it so that we can start a new positive streak as early as today. It won't be easy, but it all comes down to us in the end - coach Dutt said.

He can be optimistic about the fact this is not the first time this team has been in such a predicament and that they were able to find a way out each of those previous times.

- I'm interested in the win only, there's no alternative for us - the coach said.

Good news is, forward Petersen is back on the team and will be in the line-up. Right back Gebre Selassie could play as well after a long time, but there's still no need for that. He allegedly did a training session on Wednesday and the coach now has to decided whether he's completely fit and ready to play.

Left back Garcia struggled with a minor problem, but seeing as he made it in the line up, it's was probably nothing serious.

Koln managed to end their losing streak with a win over Borussia. It was not a well-deserved win, with Borussia dominating throughout the game (possession of over 60%, a lot more shots and attempts). Koln had two shots on target which resulted in just as many goals scored. The second goal was a result of goal keeper's mistake.

- Werder are recording bad results, but they are a good team. If we play the way we can, we have a nice opportunity to get some more points - coach Stoger said.

He said his team will play patiently and wait for Bremen's defense to make a mistake. And mistakes at Werder come quite often. The only problems is, Koln's forwards are not in the best of shape.

Stoger was forced to get Osako and Maroh out of the Borussia game. Osako could start on the bench today, but Maroh could be back in the line-up.

The only other player Stoger can't count on is Helmes, but he's been out for a while.
