The Raptors won the last seven head-to-head games

Not once in the last seven head-to-head games did Orlando manage to score 100 points. Their average of only 89,3 points is not even close to that

Having opened the new season with a defeat to New Orleans, Orlando went back home for the first home game. Coach Vaughn's team met the Wizards to continue the bad streak with the capital city team.

Orlando were doing well the first half, finishing it only three points behind (51-54), but couldn't keep the good game up in the third quarter (28-15). They got very close to equalizing in the final quarter, but lacked power and time for a comeback.

- It's tough when you lose like this. We fought a lot to get back in the game, we're clearly still in the learning process. Sadly, we had a bunch of games like this one last season, naming we finally need to find a way to dig ourselves out of this pit - Orlando's top player Vucevic (23 points, 11/21, and 12 rebounds)  said.

While rebounding caused them a lot of trouble in the Pelican game, turnovers were their main problem the last round. 18 of those neutralized the good shooting night Magic had (shooting efficiency of 51,4%).

- I think we played really well, but the 18 turnovers are too much. We're not good enough to allow those and that destroyed us - Vucevic said.

B. Gordon added 22 points (7/12) and four assists, while Fournier scored 21 point (8/10).

Orlando will try and claim their first win this season against the Raptors tonight. But, the seven previous head-to-head games with the Raptors, all of which they lost, are not a good sign. Also, if Magic lose tonight, they will start the season on a 0-3 record for the first time in nine years.

Unlike Orlando, the Raptors managed to record their first win in the season opener with the Hawks.

They took control of the game very early on, taking the lead 60-52 by half time. The lead increased in the third quarter and the game was at that point pretty much settled even though the Hawks managed to close the gap a bit later on.

- We need to work on not releasing the grip at the end of the game - coach Casey said.

Their two key players Lowry and DeRozan haven't had the best shooting performances but the Raptors still managed to record 109 points with a shooting percentage of only 41.1%. Valanicunas was their most efficient player with 17 points (4/5) and 8 rebounds, while Johnson added 16 points (7/15) and 10 rebounds.

If shooting doesn't work, we'll find other ways to help the team - DeRozan said. He scored 15 points (4/16), adding 11 rebounds, while Lowry who added 11 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds, said:

We're a team, we're a complete team. DeMar and I didn't play as well offensively, but we did other things to help the team. 

The Raptors hope for the second consecutive win against the team they beat the last seven head-to-head games, limiting them to an average of only 89,3 points. On the other hand, Toronto's offense was doing brilliantly on that winning streak, especially Lowry and DeRozan who were scoring 25.7 and 22 points respectfully.
