Omsk were close to brining down the defending champion in the last round

Dynamo Krasnodar are currently top table with no defeats. They're arriving to Omsk after playing in Finland on Wednesday. The job wasn't difficult, but they spent a lot of time travelling, so the hosts had more time to prepare

Despite the financial problems at the start of the season, and then injury-problems, Omsk are quite good this season. They're still in the race for the knock-out phase of the Champions League. Currently they're fifth in the championship, but with good chances to end among the top four. They missed a great chance to defeat the defending champions Dynamo Kazan in an away game.

- In the beginning it was hard, but then we started to serve well and play a good defense. We played the game we are well-known for. Dynamo Kazan are a very good team, Russian champions, and the match was tied. In the end one, two points decided the winner - said assistant coach Omska Bulatovic.

Omsk won 11 small points more than their opponent. All of the three sets Omsk lost were with two small point-difference. In the crucial fifth set, they lost 15-13, and in the first and the third one they failed to use a set point. But, the match was good and they can base their optimism for today on it. Cuban Carrillo was absent, but today she might be present.

Isaeva was excellent with 16 points. She is definitely a good addition for Omsk. The fans will also help them today, and if Omsk repeat the Kazan match, Krasnodar won't reach victory easily.

After seven rounds Dynamo Krasnodar are at seven wins. Matches against Kazan and Moscow they've won in the fifth set. They were at the edge of defeat in the last round against Dynamo Moscow, but Krasnodar notched a gear and managed to win. Koseleve once more played an excellent match - she scored 30 points and was the most responsible for the win.

- Although the final result was good for us, I am a little disappointed with the game. We didn't play the way I'd imagined it, but in the end we started to play better - Krasnodar's coach Usakov commented the win against Dynamo Moscow.

After that win they were off to Finland for a CEV Cup rematch against Hameenlinna. It was a match which should've finished the job after a convincing home win against the Finnish club. What wore them down more than the game was the journey. Sokolova didn't play there, and a couple of the key players played only for half of the match.

Dynamo Krasnodar beat them convincingly, the CEV Cup quarter-finals were earned in three sets in which the opponents won tiny 49 points. It's clear they're up for a tougher match today in Omsk.
