Forli have never beaten Bergamo

Bergamo won all 20 previous duels, and although they're not in great shape, it's hard to believe they'll fail to extend the series, as Forli are in even worse condition

Bergamo played with a full roster in Novara, their recovered receiver Blagojević starting right away, but they still had a very bad time. The way they lost was worse than the loss itself.

- Novara are undoubtedly one of the best teams in the league, and certainly better than ours, but this doesn't justify the fact we only managed to parry for a few moments, and were never in it for the win. In order to parry their enormous offensive potential, you need good defending, and we under-performed in that segment, to put it mildly- said coach Stefano Lavarini, with blocker Laura Melandri not saying much more neither:

- A clean defeat, our only regret is not forcing Novara to try harder. Without focus or drive throughout most of the match, there was not much we could do.

The good news for Bergamo is that the hardest part of their schedule, which brought 4 defeats, is now behind them. The remaining two rounds played this year give them a realistic chance to score some points. This goes for tonight's game in particular, as Forli don't seem like a team who could ambush them these days, as we could see in their match against Montechiari.

Instead of the improvement they wished to see, the away match only brought more frustration for Forli, as the game was more of a one way street. They only put up a fight in the third set, when the writing was already on the wall. Despite his team's poor performance, coach Biagio Marone is still holding on, but the fact he did not make any statements prior to the Bergamo match, contrary to common practice, shows his job is indeed hanging by a thread.

Captain Elena Koleva offered the media the regular cliches:

- We're going to Bergamo to play an even match, with an obligation to react the right way after Montechiari, which is playing as a collective. If we can show how much we're worth, I'm sure we'll soon see the positive results we all wish to see.
