Fiorentina undefeated for 10 games, Pochettino has to reshuffle

Fiorentina are in fine form and have a 1-1 draw from London, while Tottenham have the League Cup final game against Chelsea in less than 72 hours

A goal by defender Basanta in London saw Fiorentina tie the score after Tottenham took an early lead. A goalless draw will be enough for Fiorentina to advance to round of 16 and often not even the toughest opponents manage to play their game in Florence. Fiorentina lost only three out of 13 games at their Artemio Franchi stadium, with the last defeat being the one to Minsk in Europa League when Montella's team no longer needed points. 

Montella wants his team to get through to the next round:

- We need courage and intensity and we need to be more determined compared to the first leg game. We need to play to win in this match, but we'll also not be disappointed if it ends as a goalless draw. I'm happy that we have the enthusiasm and the courage to do this game in the best manner. Will Neto be on the goal? He is a great professional who always trains with top focus and that is a guarantee for me. This is an important game against a very powerful team. We want to get through and we expect a nice game.

Montella's greatest problem is goal keeper Tatarusanu's minor injury and we have to wait and see whether he will go with the 'traitor' Neto or forth choice goal keeper Rosati since Lupatelli has injury-struggles for a while now. Besides him, forward Rossi, Bernadeschi and midfielder Octavio have the same problems. 

The important midfielder Borja Valero is questionable and Montella is expected to start with Aquliani, Pizarro, and Fernander. Salah and Joaquin, and striker Mario Gomez are expected in Fiorentina's offense.

Tottenham played more official matches than any other Enlgish club this season, with the second leg Europa League match with Fiorentina taking place only three days ahead of the League Cup final against Chelsea (Sunday at Wembley Stadium). They were not happy with taht schedule at Tottenham, but couldn't change anything. That is why coach Pochettino plans to reshuffle a bit tonight, with his top two players Kane and Eriksen probably starting on the bench.

- This is the first of the two finals we are to play in less than 72 hours. What else to say than that we believe we can win both - manager Pochettino said. The London-based club managed to advance to Europa League Top 16 in the last two years but haven't been able to make it into quarterfinals since 1984 when they went all the way through to the final.

- I will decide ahead of the game who is best prepared for the tough game we will have in Fiorentina against the opponents who are in fine form. We need to score but we don't have to rush into anything, we have 90 minutes to prove who the better team is - Pochettino said. He left 6 players who didn't get too much time on the pitch this season back home. Those are substitute goal keeper Friedel, Younes Kaboul, Etienne Capoue, Cristian Ceballos, DeAndre Yedlin, and forward Emmanuel Adebayor, who no longer seems to be part of Pochettino's plans for the future.
