Australia in 7th heaven, Macedonia's coach Djurovski very close to getting sacked

Bad EURO qualifiers results for Macedonia will probably see coach Bosko Djurovski sacked. There is even some chance he will be fired before this friendly match with Australia, who are in high spirits following a great performance against Germany

The already slim chance of qualifying for 2016  EURO Macedonia had a few days ago disappeared as they lost to Belarus Friday home. Coach Djurevski was extremely disappointed with his team's performance:

- We could have gotten off to a better start, we took initiative and an early lead, but following Polozhani's injury (some half an hour into the game), we stopped. The injury did affect our plans a bit but that doesn't justify what was happening later. Belarus were dominant and won deservedly, we were simply doomed with so many unmotivated players. The only ones who did well are goal keeper Pacovski, who prevented us from recording an even worse defeat, and Hasani, who displayed what kind of performance a player should have for his national team.

Neither of the two will be on the list for the Australia game since the coach wants to give the other goal keepers a shot while Hasani's club Brondby asked for him to be given this game off. The greatest questions of them all regarding the Macedonian team is who will be in charge tonight? Macedonian Football Association board meeting is scheduled for 1 pm and well-informed sourced claim that Djurovski will get sacked today.

The atmosphere on the Australian team is far better following a brilliant performance against Germany last Wednesday. Without a few key players (forwards Cahill and Kruse, midfielder Luongo, center back Spiranovic), Australia managed to stay very close to world champions. Judging by that match, Australia will become an even more important player on world football scene.  

- Good games at World Cup and the Asian Cup title got us very confident. It's feels great to come here and play such a good game. We believe in what we're doing and it shows. We could have won even but this is definitely a step in the right direction and something we can be proud of - captain Mile Jedinak said after the Germany game. Coach Postecooglou was just as thrilled with his team's performance:

- I hope this result helps us get rid of the inferiority complex we maybe had before when meeting great teams. We need to believe we are not worse than others, only that will result in further improvement. I have been saying that there are no limits ever since I took over. The fact we were close with the world champions tonight suggests I was not far off. 

The Australian stayed in their German base Mainz after that game. Given the fact Postecoglou is keen on experimenting, there should be a lot of changes on the lineup, compared to the one that took on Germany. He will probably make quite a few changes in the course of the game. Milligan is out with an injury, which means the aforementioned Luongo should take over. As for others, goal keeper Ryan and defender Franjic should be given a day off.
