Both teams are doing badly

Panetolikos have so far recorded only 8 points, while Giannina don't have much more either. Another similarity between them are rather efficient games this season

Panetolikos are doing below all expectations this season. They are just above the danger zone and the sacking of the coach resulted in no improvements. Even since Matzourakis took over, they managed to win only one point in 4 games, including the cup game and that is not good at all. 

They faced Xanthi last round away to take a lead only minutes into the game but failed to stay ahead. Xanthi scored twice from set-pieces and once from a penalty. Panetolikos deserved a point as they played a close game but in the end lost again.

- We lost too many games this season, especially home. We are going through a big of a rough patch but I hope the fans will have understanding and that they will come and support us again because we need them most now - coach Matzourakis said. 

The home team are without three important starters - captain and center back Kousas, right back Koutroumanos and winger Willafaneza. 

Giannina aren't doing much better this season either. They do have three points more after being the bottom table team in the last round. They are now to face a team that suits them perfectly as it struggles with exactly the same problems. We have to wait and see who will do better today.

Both teams share one characteristic that is not typical for the Greek league - they play efficient games. Both went over 2,5 goals in 6 games, while Giannina average 3,3 and the home team 3,4 goals per game. Those numbers suggest we might be in for an interesting game today.

- We do our best in every game we play and this one will be no different. A win last round was great. It gave us confidence and I believe we can now record a good result - the visiting defender Michail said.

Giannina will have defender Berios back (after a suspension), meaning they are complete today.

Even though head-to-head games so far don't suggest there will be many goals here, these teams are rather different this season and I have every reason to believe that this game will be different than the previous ones. Both teams went over 2,5 goals in 6 out of 9 games this season, with the average of 3,3 ta Giannina and 3,4 goals at Panetolikos. The home team have the worst defense in the league which conceded 20 goals so far, while Giannina's defense is third worst. The 2,5 over has great odds but I'll rather do with a much safer option - the over 2 option. Looking at the 1,5 margin per game, these teams were under it only once in 9 games, which is why I expect at least 2 goals here.
