Last Sunday I guessed Arsizio's fall, and with their hot-n-cold rhythm which they've been practicing lately and today I predict for the to rise. They can especially threaten Thun who are still searching for themselves in the second part of the season. The only good thing was the away match in Zurich and somewhat this last match against GC. In any case, there's no continuity in their game and I think their chances to avoid defeat against such a great team are practically non existent. In fact, the only thing that worries me here, after a couple of good matches in a row, a lot more is expected from Sion, and we don't know how they react under pressure of their surroundings, so the bet will be somewhat more modest. In more normal circumstances, I would completely avoid this match because both teams are prone to dramatic oscillations this season. But, considering the fact that Arsizio came home from Moscow not even 48 hours before the start of the duel, I think it's worth to try and earn something on these solid odds. The one for any win by the hosts doesn't have a special value, and you shouldn't bother with that one, but this handicap for one smaller bet is much more attractive, especially when you know that Piacenza, despite all their weaknesses, can beat anyone if they're in the mood, and it would be a shame to miss that. Yes, Conegliano are a favorite, and it would be a real sensation if they didn't win this, but I doubt this match will end as expected. I also think Forli could take (at least) one set. What I want to point out is that the black series can't last forever, and sooner or later, they'll vent out on someone. That someone could be St. Gallen, who are still looking for the right form after the break, and for now aren't the shadow of a team who were legitimate candidates for one of the places leading to the Europa League last fall. The fact that Grasshoppers are stuck in the relegation zone sounds incredible when you know they're one of the traditionally great clubs of the Swiss league. The home team are really a favorite here, and I think they'll win, but I also think Forli might take at least one set. Even though they're still lining up defeats, you have to admit that Angelo Vercesi did make some improvements, and they don't go out to the court with an attitude of already being written off. If they could have won the set against Casalmaggiore or Savina Del Bene, they can definitely do it in Firenza where Bisonte, which is a bit of a paradox, are less efficient than in away matches. They only defeated Urbino with the max result so far, and Urbino was lost in space and time then.

I know nothing can be taken for granted in football, but weighing all the info available, I simply don't see how this match could end besides the home team winning. Zurich are traditionally dramatic at the beginning of the second part of the season, they showed it in St. Gallen already, and today, they'll have three more offensive players who make them even more dangerous. Also, Christian Schneuwly will join them today, and Thun are definitely weaker without him.
We can only guess what the guests' lineup will look like, but they're certainly handicapped because out of the seven absent players, most would be starting players if they were healthy. Also, the financial situation is far from an ideal in the club, but that's nothing new, really. However, there are new rumors that things are so bad that Thun might not be able to get the licence for the new season. It's expected that the home coach will, after his team wins the first sets and confirms the spot in semifinals, as per usual start resting his key players and give the substitutes a chance. Montichari might take advantage of it to get at least a set, which already happened in the first head-to-head match in which Novara played with the top team from start to finish. Details

I'm not saying Montichiari will win this match for sure, but with odds like these, it's definitely worth it to bet on their win with a medium stake, because I think the bookmakers did underestimate them here. Even though they lost to the favorites lately (Piacenza 2-3, Bergamo 1-3), we shouldn't forget that Arsizio and Modena left the PalaGeorge court with their chins down, and Casalmaggiore - who aren't nearly as wild in away matches as they are at home - are definitely not better than those aforementioned. This bet is based on the law of big numbers, more or less. I think you just have to bet on home team's win because if Urbino don't win today, they probably never will. Another team barely holding it up, Forli, seem to be the only team they could defeat right now, and get their first points. They can hardly play worse than they did so far, and we can assume that the new coach arriving will shake them up a bit. All in all, there's a chance that the sun will finally shine for them, too. Tough away games for Bisonte, as their coach expected, were not that big of a problem. The only game in which the opponents dominated the whole time was the one against Casalmaggiore, all the others would end surprisingly well (Novara 2-3, Piacenza 3-1, Arsizio 2-3). What I'm trying to say here is that this match should not end quickly either and that the Florence-based team should win at least a set against Conegliano, which would see this margin exceeded. Because of the good odds, I've decided for the away team's win. The fact that it's paid double seems like they're underestimating Bergamo a bit who, truth be told, are far from their best days, but are still a club with a tradition, unlike Montichiari who are looking for their place under the sun and I think it's wrong to proclaim them the (easy) favorite, no matter how good they look at this moment. Hats off to Modena for six wins in a row, and everything they did so far, but they're not a mega-team that will keep winning forever, especially in a league as evened out as the Italian. Their positive series has to end sooner or later, and the possibility that it will happen tonight in the away game against one of the direct rivals for the top of the league is definitely not to be ignored. The odds on Conegliano's win - I think they're better than Modena's, regardless of the current league table state - simply looks too good to be ignored, and against a team assembled for this season (Glass, De Gennaro, Adams, Ozsoy, Nikolova...), nobody can be a favorite in PalaVerde arena in front of 5 000 fans, even if they come to Treviso as current leader of the championship. The home team are progressing slowly, but steadily, and mostly win lately, getting closer to that form they had at the season beginning. In general, a logical way things to happen in the following weeks is that Conegliano start rising, and Modena start falling, and I think that will start happening with this game, so this bet is worth taking. The reason I see this as nice bet to play is that the home team to win pays double, a fact caused exclusively by the past performance of St Gallen and the fact they're still ahead of YB in the ranking ladder, a situation which should soon change.
