Kiel just beat Paris in the last round while Barcelona put up very unconvincing performances over Wisla and Benidorm. This will be their biggest test so far in the season

The big second round derby match is to be played at Blaugrana. Both teams have won their first round games but those wins were very different. Barcelona beat Wisla after the Poles had a 12-11 lead at half time. Barcelona won the second half 17-11 on account of brilliant defense and Jallous's performance on the offensive end (6/9). Andersson opened the game badly at left back (0/3) while N'Guessan didn't get a lot of time on the floor (1/1).

All of Barcelona's games this season were ripe with inconsistency, which is the consequence of so many players leaving. Pascual will need weeks or more likely months to get them to fit in. 

They were horrible against Benidorm in the first 30 minutes this week. They failed to cope with the 7-on-6 system the home team played. Andersson once again scored nothing (0/2), N'Guessan went 5/5, Jallouz 5/6, Kiro 5/6. The defense did a good job in the second half to concede just 10 goals. 

Either way, Barcelona seem pretty unstable. Kiel will be a big test for Pascual's team.

- Kiel are a top-level team. They acquired some players and we'll have a tough time. We are getting better each next day and I'm happy with how the team is developing - Pascual said.

- We need to get 6 players working with the rest of the team. Three of them are very young and inexperienced at this level. Things are not going as easily or as fast as we would like them to. We need to have faith in this team. It's still too early to make any conclusions.

They played for a spot at Final Four last season, and surprisingly, Kiel managed to get through. This game is not that important but Barca want to get back at them anyway. 

Kiel will definitely have a say in that, though. They are better than they were last season and definitely have more players to choose from. Toft Hansen and Wolff made the defense better. Wolff is doing very well which forces Landin to do his best too.

They played a top level game last weekend and beat Karabatic and other Paris stars, having limited them to just 12 goals in the second half. 

Kiel went on to play Balingen and won by doing as much as was necessary. It was not a good game for the spectators but points were the only thing that mattered. 

- We can do better and we will have to improve a lot of things in Barcelona - Bilyk said. He scored 6 goals against Balingen.

- We need to do our best throughout the 60 minutes in Barcelona. You often do well for 45 minutes but that is not enough - Gislason said. He lost the less important Jaanime during the week (joined Melsungen).

- Bilyk and Nilsson found rhythm and they'll do as well as they did against Paris - Kiel's coach said. 

Vujin didn't play much in the PSG game or against Balingen. Gislason explained that he needed defense specialists because Balingen's 7-on-6 system.

- Marko is not the first choice for that. Barca do not play like that, unless they are a man down. Marko will get more time in the game today. 

The same goes for wing Santon because Dahmke is injured. Gislason said they will play with two pivots at times because that is the only way to get Raul a break.

Barcelona lack game organization early this season. That's very clear. A lot of the newly acquired players have not yet fit into the team, their offense often seems sterile and that could be deadly against Kiel's defense.
The Catalans had problems even in the league against Granollers and Guadalajara, in games they would normally settle by half time. They went on to barely beat Logrono (scored 24) and struggled with Wisla. They ended up winning on account of good defense and Jallouz inspiration. That won't be good today since a player like him cannot handle Kiel's 5-1 defense. Also, Barca struggled with Benidorm three days ago. They were 3 goals down at half time and scored 30 in total. However, none of their previous opponents are like Kiel, especially when it comes to defense. Kiel's defense can cause trouble for any team in the world. They proved that against PSG in the first round when they conceded 27 in total, 12 in the second half. PSG's offense is much better than Barcelona's. They live off back players' shots and since they are not in fine form and since they will be faced with brilliant 5-1 defense, Barca will not score more than 27-28.

Also, Kiel conceded 22, 27, 23, 21, 23 and 23 goals. Those opponents are not Barcelona's level but the numbers show consistency in defense.
