These two teams met early last season in Bayreuth, where the home team suffered one of the worst home defeats ever. The visitors won by 40 points. It may not be logical to expect Bayreuth to win today but that is exactly what I expect. Braunschweig's coach last season was Korner but he left, as well as all the players. Main sponsors left too. Coach Korner took over at Bayreuth, who increased investment and want to make it into playoffs. So far, they are doing really well. They only lot to Ulm in overtime in the first round after having a great chance to finish everything in regulation time. They started a 3-game winning run after that (a win over Wurzburg home by 12 points, over Jena by 3 away where Alba nearly lost).

Nraunschweig are 1-3. They stood up to Ludwigsburg home on Sunday. We need to note that that was the second game in just 48 hours for the opponents. Before that, they did badly in Giessen and recorded the only win against unconvincing Rasta at season start. They played Bayreuth in preseason and lost 72-89 after a close first half (38-38). Bayreuth have gotten better since and mostly won in preseason and at the start of Bundesliga. I think the 40-point loss from last sesaon can only be motivation for Bayreuth. When it comes to quality, there is a huge gap between those two teams now.
