Spain are clearly underestimated because of the defeat to Belarus yesterday. They got trashed, won just 47 points in total and the match finished at 122 points. Belarus are not a weak team, I believe Belgium will struggle against them. Belarus were very strong in their group last year in qualifiers for EC. Spain played below their level yesterday and that is why I expect some reaction from them. Belgium are opponents that suit them much more than Belarus, who destroyed them through blocking. Last year, they played in the WC qualifiers. The first match was played in France and Belgium won in the fifth set. It was 25-15, 19-25, 22-25, 25-21 and 15-11. Belgium won the second mat h in straight sets (25-20, 29-27 and 29-27). Belgium are now without Vandersteene and Rousseaux. They are weakened and Spain are year more experienced. Let's just add that Belgium's top setter Vyver had some problems and that she was on the bench yesterday. Biebauw was in the lineup and I expect the same today. Belgium played Latvia at 117 points and I think this margin is at least 5 points too low. Spain will fight, looking to make amends for the defeat yesterday. They have some quality and this would work with 25-17 in three sets. Spain are definitely capable of that. They proved it last year when they played close sets in a qualifier for EC with Belgium.
