The tall Frenchman is looking for the end of the bad series in his favorite conditions

De Schepper has eight defeats in a row and hopes that inside courts will bring change. Huta Galung practiced and played on clay last weekend, so there will be a difficult transition in front of him. However, he know how to play in these conditions

Few tennis players can boast with the fact that  they entered the Top 100 in three years. De Schepper is 26, but it was only three years ago that he entered professional tennis. The Frenchman had a very early start in tennis, but in his younger years he was not successful. Then he changed his style of play and adjusted it to his height. There soon followed a comparison with Karlovic, because of the height, as well as frequent entrances to the net. However, the Frenchman is left-handed, which carries its own advantages.

De Schepper is currently in a series of eight defeats and didn't win since Wimbledon. Then he had a lot of luck with the draw. First Lorenzi, who still has no Grand Slam victories in his career, then the withdrawal by Cilic, and then defensive victory against Monaco. With these points he is still in the top 70, which of course make him happy:

- This is my best season, but lately the results do not my way. The most important thing now is to focus on the game, more than on the wins and losses. Now I am waiting for Metz, a tournament where I like to play and where the conditions suit me.

There are no points to defend here, but there soon follows an indoor Challenger, where he was excellent last year. It means a great responsibility, although the high Frenchmen is not panicking:

- I'll play a lot of tournaments, if my body allows. It is important to play as much as possible because it makes me stronger. I've got a lot of points to defend, but it does not bother me. It is important to develop the game and then the results will come.

Huta Galung had Davis Cup commitments last weekend. We knew that Haase would be the first seed, but the second was not known. Finally, the Dutch selector chose De Bakker with a simple reason:

- Although the two of them do not share much, Thiemo played better against stronger opponents.

Unexpectedly, Austria fell after the first two days. Although this was an unimportant match, Melzer wanted to make amends, and he played on Sunday. He got the first set and then let the reversal to happen. This time Huta flipped. Now he has a transition in front of him because Austria hosted at the indoor courts.

The Dutch still should not be so easily written off. Although for more than half the season he practically plays only on clay, in the beginning of the season he had great results inside. He won two French challengers, so he might feel comfortable in Metz. Although the transition from clay to concrete is very difficult, De Schepper has had a large series of defeats and his self-confidence could be a problem.

De Schepper is not in a good form recently and he has series of defeats. Huta Galung played on clay (indoors) last weekend. It is hard to predict who will win today. I expect them both win most of their own service games. Huta knows how to play indoor tournaments and he has shown exactly that in the first part of the season in France. De Schepper and Huta Galung have met in the finals of an indoor challenger and they played a 36-games long match. Only one of the service games ended up with a break. In the last 10 matches the French player has played only once under the stated margin. I expect them both to start the match cautiously and to focus on winning their own service games.
