Pashanski and Haider Maurer played an interesting match yesterday. The Austrian player won the first set before losing nine games in a row. Pashanski managed to destroy his cool with his usual provocation, so the Austrian had lost it completely. Speaking of his opponent later on, Haider Maurer said he acted like a 10 year-old, something he could never do on the ATP tour. He also complained on the low temperatures and rain. Pashanski won against Montanes last week, completely outplaying him, but was helpless against Panfil - the Polish played scored 10 aces against him, leaving him with four unconverted break balls. Panfil is brimming with self-confidence now, having played his best tennis yet the last week. On the other hand, winning against Haider Maurer is not to be ignored, but it is the classical Pashanski thing - he plays best at this level, but mostly losing his matches. I can see no changes since the last week. Despite playing a lot the last week, Panfil stated that he is not tired. He won against Machado in the first round, and I believe he deserves to be seen as a bigger favorite - he commanded a 1,6 quota, but it should be more today.
