Raonic hasn'tlost his service game for four matches

The Canadian allowed one match point to Dodig, and won all of his 40 service games to reach the final. Del Porto had a chance for a double break in the openning of the match, but in the end hardly won it after two tie breaks. Almagro failed to use his chances in the key moments and that decided the match

The conditions in Tokyo, as we said so many times, are really fast. Especially when played indoors, like it happened on semi finals day. That emphasized the importance of service even more. Raonic and Dodig's match proved that perfectly in the first set. Raonic had one break point, but didn't use it. The Croatian player opened tie break better and got into a 3-1 lead, but his volley bailed on him in the key moment and Raonic got back to 4-4. He got ahead and won the first set. 

That only boosted his confidence and he started pushing more on return as well. After initial 1-1, he won last five games in a row. He is now facing 1st seed Del Potro who has every right to be afraid. Raonic won all of the 40 service games in four matches played so far. He had 64 aces and is currently on a eight match winning streak. That put him in position 10 in the fight for London.

- London is still really far. I don't really think about that. I'm playing well, but I have a long way ahead. I think only about the following match, and I want to go on like this, I'm very happy - said Roanic after being asked about the final tournament for the best players.

- Montreal boosted my confidence. I didn't play my best, but everything started there. My coach and I have both been waiting for it.

Indoor conditions affected the other semi final as well. Even though Del Porto was in a 2-0 lead and had a break point for another break, Almagro managed to get back to 2-2. After that initial insecurity, they were both dominating their service games till the end. 

Almost the same happened in tie break - after losing initial serves, they won 11 points on service in a row, and both saved one set point. But, Almagro couldn't save the second one and the Argentinian won 9-7.

The second set ended in tie break again after they both won all the service games. But, this tie break wasn't as exciting - Del Potro won four points on return after winning only six points in Almagro's six service games in that set. He won the second time break with only one point lost.

- I played well in the key moments - said Del Potro.

- This was one of those matches that get decided by only a few points. That is why I stayed focused till the end. I'm happy with how I played the tie breaks.

Raonic never won a Series 500 tournament. He has five titles altogether, three in San Jose. He lost the final to Nishikori in three sets last year. Of course, Del Potro has more titles, 15 in total. He already won two tournaments from this category this year, Rotterdam and Washington. He has a difficult task now - to stop the man who reached final without having lost a single service game.

Raonic didn't lose a single set so far in this tournament. In the semi-finals against Dodig this was a winning bet and Del Potro has an even stronger service game than Dodig. He went through two tie-breaks against Almagro. In the first set both of the players won one break point and in the second Del Potro was harmless on the return until the tie-break. Everything indicates that we should see a lot of fast service games with lots of aces and only a few break chances. Both of the players tend to play very offensively and we shouldn't see a lot of long exchanges and that fact also speaks in favor of this bet. There has been a lot of rain this week in Tokyo and if they would be forced to play the match indoors then this bet is even more likely to become a winning one.
