Kevin Anderson - Marin Čilić (6:7 7:6 4:6)

This is the best period in Čilić's career, which he confirmed. Not because this is the third finals in three weeks but because he has been consistently playing aggressive tennis. He hasn't lost a single set here; after toying with the opponents in the first few matches, he gave Isner no break chances. He was down by 0-3 in the tie-break and then won five points in a row. That's how mentally strong he is at the moment and he is not shying away from that in his statements. He even got more aces than Isner. Anderson is playing his first tournament since Australia. Smyczek and Matosevic took a set against him and nervous Johnson gave him many freebies in the first semi-finals of his career. Čilić has never had this momentum nor has he ever played so consistently match after match. I don't think Anderson can stop him, especially as he lacks experience from bi matches. Čilić has three wins against the South African, he doesn't allow much on his serve and he will conclude this period with another title. Considering his serve and return this week, he can cover this handicap in three sets without too much trouble. Anderson is not playing so poorly but Marin is on a high. So, a win for Čilić by 3 or more points.
