Taro Daniel is the new Asian power. Interestingly, he prefers playing on clay, but can do other surfaces too. He's been an interesting name from the start of the season. At Vina del Mar he reached the quarterfinal from the qualifiers, as his first appearance in the main draw. He beat Bellucci and Delbonis, and not by accident. He left for Europe last week, and left a good impression indoors as well. He lost in two tie-breakers to Gombos, who later on went to the final. He won two matches in the qualifiers and ATP did not feature a piece on him just for fun. He will quickly rise up the ATP ladder, I have no doubt, as he doesn't favor conditions. Clezar is a clay player. He was invited to few home tournaments over the last few weeks but failed to perform well. He has lost three matches in a row, his confidence is certainly not very high. Daniel is much more of a potential, and is still under the radar. He will not have these kinds of odds for much longer.
