Radwanska covered this handicap in all of their last four head to head matches. So why choose a counter-handicap this time? -Because the Pole is experiencing some problems with her knee. It is preventing her from moving properly. Despite moving well against Oprandi, her serving in the second set was slightly less convincing, which could have been caused by her knee problems. Besides, she didn't have a proper training session ahead of this match, since she focused on healing the knee. On the other hand, Vesnina recorded a convincing win against Riske. She won a lot of service points, and managed to take initiative and end the rallies quickly as planned. She later won the doubles match as well, which will surely give her an additional boost of confidence. I think that opting for a counter-handicap is a great here since Vesnina will manage to take advantage of slightly less mobile Radwanska to make the match more exciting. She should win a lot of easy points on account on her serve, and this margin simply seems one game too high, given Radwanska's injury.
