Haase is one of the rare bigger names that didn't have Davis Cup obligations. The Dutch player certainly could use the break as he had problems with his back but he claims to have found the right exercises and that he's ready. Nedovyesov is a challenger player and these tournaments have put him in Top 100. Until he proves his worth on this level, I will bet against him. He still doesn't have an ATP win and he might have additional problems here as he played in the Davis Cup. In Switzerland, he helped Kazakhstan with a win in the doubles match but he and Nedovyesov got four games here against a much weaker pair. Haase reached the quarter-finals here last year and he should be able to settle this matter in two sets. Clay is his favorite surface, as he admits himself, while this will be the first ATP match on clay for the Kazakh player.
