Left-handed players suit Verdasco. His record against them is 55-25. Half of those 25 defeats were to Nadal, which makes the record even more impressive. These conditions agree with him and I believe him to be well prepared. His cooperation with Enqvisto should result in improvements. Young finally managed to win a few consecutive matches on clay. I was not surprised by his win against Monaco since the Argentinian didn't do a proper match in a while now. That passive game was what helped the American, but he won't be the one controlling the rallies here. The Spaniard's shots have a lot more spin, he can change his game accordingly, and his serving is better. Of course, ups and downs are a possibility, but I expect him to be able to cover for this handicap in three sets if necessary. When motivated, and he is motivated now, he's far better than Young on clay surface.
