Ever since she came to Brisbane, Sharapova seems to be on a mission. She wants the No.1 ranking and a win here would be the best possible start to the season. The conditions suit her and make her killer shots even deadlier. Moving is the real key to her good games here. When she moves well, there is no way to stop her. She destroyed Suarez, doing what ever she wanted, even though the Spaniard proved a tricky opponent last season. I don't think Svitolina will do any better than Suarez today. She doesn't stand a chance against Sharapova, as we saw last season. Svitolina is a much better player now, but that doesn't change a thing. When motivated and moving well, Sharapova doesn't care who's on the other side of the net. There may be some exceptions, but Svitolina is not one of them. She won't have it easy today.
