Tuscan derby should be marked with terrific attacks

Empoli and Siena are both going into this match with three very dangerous forwards in the main roles

Empoli is stomping everyone on their way this season, and, after five rounds, they already have four point advantage over the competition. They had four wins and a draw in the first five rounds, which means that Sarri's team is only continuing on the path they started last season. They faltered in the play-off final on their way towards the promotion into the Serie A. Empoli won against weak Padova on Saturday, but the result is misleading because it was anything but an easy game. 

Padova had an early lead, and in the first hour, they missed several great opportunities to increase their lead. Empoli scored three goals in the last half hour, veterans Tavano and Maccarone scored again. Unlike them, Padova's players have distinguished themselves with inaccuracy once again. Sarri hopes that the decor in the derby will be nice:

- I hope that the derby will bring more fans to the stadium. This is an important derby, and we want it to be a nice match. We will do our best to succeed. We are happy with our position in the league and we want to stay there. It is enough to look at Siena's squad to know what kind of team we will be playing against. But we already played against Palermo and we weren't scared. We know we have another difficult match ahead of us, just like the game against Padova.  

Captain Morro has recovered from injury, but it is expected that Sarri won't use him from the first minute of the derby. In a clash between great attacks, Empoli's trump cards will be the playmaker Verdi and excellent and experienced scorers Tavano and Maccarone. 

Empoli and Siena's Tuscan derby should be a clash between two teams who are fighting for the promotion into Serie A. Siena has started with negative points, but Beretta's team is looking great so far with only one defeat from the first five games. The defense, led by Lamann, does not inspire too much confidence, but the offense works well. They would probably work even better against Ternane in the previous round if their playmaker D'Agostino wasn't injured in the first ten minutes of the match. 

Beretta spoke favorably about their Tuscan rival:

- We have a difficult match ahead of us, against a quality team in good form. They are going after direct promotion. Regardless of that, we are convinced we can have a great match in the derby to which we approach in a special way.

Big handicap for Siena is the fact that they're coming to Empoli without their key first-team players, center back Morero and important midfielder D'Agostino, who are injured. Just like Empoli's, Siena's attack is dangerous with Rosina, Paolucci and Giannetti in the main roles. 

 

This match is a Toscan derby and a face-off of two best offenses in the first five rounds of Serie B. Both coaches announced a fight to win, both of them are hoping for a good performance and both of them announced three great forwards in the first lineup. On one side there are Verdi, Tavano and Maccarone and on the other Rosina, Paolucci and Gianetti. Those are respectable offenses, but they are not the only aces Sarri and Berreta have up their sleeves because both teams have excellent efficiency with free kicks, especially Empoli who look deadly with Tonelli in the goal area after a corner kick. Anything except a good match with at least three goals would be a big surprise.
