Ambri continue with great performances

Ambri have three consecutive wins which placed them at a high third spot on the league table. Home team lost most of their games recently, but all those defeats were close ones

According to expectations, today's opponents had a tough low-scoring game last night. Lausanne are oriented on defense from the start of the season, aware they do not have enough offensive quality and potential. Ambri are much more careful this season since they are without their two very offensive players (Williams, their first scorer last year, and very efficient defensemen Noreau).

Lausanne opened the game better last night but Ambri took over the game later and were a better team on he ice. At the end Lausanne started playing better again, but that was not enough to even the score.

- We are aware we need to improve our realization. I deliberately changed the tactics after I took over the team and I decided we should play defensively. We have a great goalie and experienced defensemen and that is the basis of our play. We still need to adapt on faster pace of the game. We do not always have enough time for regeneration and in such situations it is always easier to defend than to attack - explained Lausanne coach Ehlers.

There are no information regarding possible lineup changes. Since they wish to win points in this game, it is unlikely they will rest goalie Huet.

We already said that Ambri are without two important players. But they are still playing good. Schaefer (he was on the goal last night) and Zurkirchen are doing an excellent job on the goal, their defense plays well (three conceded goals in last three games) and they always manage to do something offensively.

After seasons filled with struggles and turmoils, Ambri finally reached the top of the league table. This season they secretly hoped to reach play-off and judging from the way things look right now, that dream should become a reality. But there are a lot of games left to play. Coach Pelletier is happy to see there is still much room for improvements, especially after Noreau and Williams return to the lineup.
