Kloten did not concede for three games in a row

Zurich played well against Fribourg, but in the end failed to take even a single point. Kloten keeps on winning, and kept the goal safe for the last three matches

Had Zurich won a point in the match against Fribourg  it would be deserved. The match was balanced for the first 30 minutes, and the home team got to the 3-2 lead. Zurich took the initiative in the second part but without any goals.

Apart from not getting any points they suffered another blow in losing the essential forward Keller. The club announced he is out for at least 6 weeks.

After the bad news, now for some good ones.  After we have been announcing the forward Nilsson´s possible  debut for the last few matches,  today it is finally happening. The club web page announced his comeback after recuperating from his injury. He is to be accompanied by Wick, while Tischler will join them on Thursday. With two, and later three of them Keller´s absence will be partially neutralized.

 Kloten have 6 victories in a row, but what is more impressive is that they did not concede a single goal for the last three matches. Any record breaking goalkeeping is still far off though since both Muller and recuperated Gerber get the credit.

They have been encouraged for the local derby by winning against Davos. Truth be told the game was boring with plenty of fallow attempts at the goal from afar, and the goalies did not have much to do in the game. Match was resolved several minutes before the end of official time, with a goal by Mueller.

No big news pertaining to the roster. Only Steinemann and Santala are still out, recuperating from injuries.

It's a big local derby which is not just about points but also about prestige. The home team coach is defensive by nature and he rarely goes for open outplaying. Today he'll be without the important attacker Keller with two returnees after injuries so I think the offense will not look better than before. The defense is generally more than solid. His colleague on the other side also prefers responsible and careful play. If the opponent does not force it, Kloten won't skate around on the ice. What it looks like they have shown in the last three games in which they allowed no goals, but they weren't that efficient themselves either. Both are statistically below 5.5 goals on the average (no matter that Kloten is on paper the most efficient scoring team in the league). Zurich at home has 6-2 on under, just like Kloten in away games. Both have in those games an average of less than 5 goals. If we take out Kloten's fluke match against Zug (7:5), than their average in last eight games is barely above 3 goals per game. I believe that series will continue.
