Aarhus without good defense, the coach looking towards next three games

Skjern were lucky in their match schedule in this season. They had no troubles with Skanderborg, Nordsjaelland i Skive in the first three rounds, and today they will face a first serious test in the form of their nemesis Aarhus, five days before the toughest match up to now, against unbeaten Sønderjyske.

- Arhus have some great individual players that we need to keep an eye on, but their biggest asset is their goalie, Nielsen. We must be careful not to arouse him, since he can singlehandedly stop a whole team. - the left wing Morten Balling warns.

- We are looking forward to the match and we will do everything to get two more points. A good start is behind us, with our defense up to the task.

Last round against Skanderborg Henrik Møllgaard was the best with 6 scored goals, followed by another national team player Kasper Søndergaard, with the surprise of the game the young Ramus Boysen who on junior World Championship in Bosnia played only on the defense for Danemark .

-We outpaced them after good defensive actions, which is actually the cornerstone of our gameplay- Boysen said.

- We scored a lot in second wave as well, and I think the defense proved the key.

Whoever saw Møllgaard in Denmarks national team is aware of how powerful second wave can Skjern mount, led by the burly far.

Boysen got some minutes on the offense, due to the middle  Lasse Mikkelsen not playing. Apart from him, Daniel Svensson is still recuperating from Hodgkin lymphoma.

- I think that this is the best season onset we had in the 9 years I have been with the club. Training practices are intensified; they look like matches now- Tim Winkler, the teams´ goalie quoted. He has 50% efficiency in first two rounds.

-The atmosphere is great after three rounds. Our opponents were the ones which we must beat up to now but comfortable victories in all three matches were a great boost to our confidence. -
 
Aarhus are an old rival, against whom they lost last season 28-26 at home and again in Cup Finals in Aarhus "7-26. In the second part of the season they played three more matches which Skjern won, by a single goals difference in two.

- Skjern are favorites and are looking good. I don t see why they should not vie for the title. They have players for each position and a good home court - pivot Aarhus pivot, a former Sjkern player, Pelle Larsen said.

- We often play tight matches. If we want to win today we will need an ace up our sleeve.

They were really bad in the last round. Without the front center, one of their best, Henrik Hansen, Gudme walked all over them by half time. 17-11. There were several halfhearted attempts  at a comeback, but none could jeopardize the away teams advantage. The score was 34-29 in the end. Far right Rune Ohm was the best with 7 goals scored followed by the far left Kasper Olsen (6). The defense showed the lack of Hansen and appeared flimsy.

- We need a defensive player, and something has to be done about it. On such a short notice this will not be easy, we are trying to find somebody from inside the club, but we will have to buy somebody this year. - coach Erik Veje sounded worried.

Hansen injured his groin and there is a 0.1% chance of him playing.

- First time since I’m coaching Aarhus we are coming to Skjer with the nothing to lose attitude. We must admit this match will be tough. We will do our best to win of course, but we will be tested by low ranked teams in the next three rounds- Aarhus coach said.

The Aarhus coach has admitted that they have a lot of problems in the defence, which was visible to anyone, especially in the last game which they lost against GOG 34-29. They are weaker in both directions without Hansen, who probably won't play today. Last season when they had Hansen and a couple of other important defensive players, like the pivot Petersson, they went over the 52.5 margin in 4 of their 5 matches against Skjern. Skjern are a very formidable attacking team and their coach wants them to play transition handball. Last season they had the stronger attack in the league and they scored 30 and 31 goals in their last to matches. They also have Mollgaard, who is a beast in the second wave... Aaruhus, on the other hand, has very good backcourts, Rune Ohm (right back) picked up where he left off last season when he played for Sonderjyske and was one on the best scorers of the league. Now he's on top too. Aarhus will have an answer in the attacking department and this match will have more than 55 goals scored in my opinion, which is over the margin.
