They have high ambitions in Radom this season

They're starting the championship with a game against Tarnobrzeg, a team against which they already played two preseason games. They won one, lost the other, but they were without their best players on both occasions

Rosa from Radom is one of rare Polish clubs which didn't have serious financial problems last year. They have a sponsor which is covering all their expenses and the small club wants to make a step or two forward. Their main goal is playing in the playoff, and it seems they did a good job over the Summer. 

Wojciech Kaminski is still a coach. They were on a constant rise last year since his arrival and they lost the playoff just by few wins. We can say that the backbone of the team has remained the same, except play Nico Wisa who has looked for happiness in another club. Reinforcements are mostly players who should guarantee quality. Guard Jakub Dloniak stands out above everyone else. He was excellent in Tarnobrzeg's jersey last year and many Polish clubs were interested in him. Rosa was the fastest and they paid the most and with that they showed that they are serious. 

Of Polish signings, we should mention Lukasz Majewski and experienced Robert Witka. Kirk Archibeque will be a great solution in the paint, he has several seasons in the Polish league behind him. Korie Lucious will be their first point guard. Their newest signing is back Elijah Johnson who has shown solid shooting abilities. All these mentioned players were the best in the preseason. 

Rosa achieved some convincing wins in the preseason, such as the one against Turow and today's opponents from Tarnobrzeg. They lost the away game against them. Both games were marked by defensive-oriented basketball and a lot of points. It needs to be mentioned that Rosa played the match they lost without some of their key players. 

- Our goal this season is to reach the playoff. We want to be one of the top eight teams and we have to go into every game with the intention to win - coach Kaminski said. 

Last year, just as in the seasons before that, Tarnobrzeg was far from the playoff. They were ninth in the end, and by all accounts, they will have trouble finishing the first part of the championship among the first eight teams. They brought in a new coach, Leszek Marzec, some players have arrived from the second league. They are expecting the most from the power forward Andrew Fitzgerald, who played in the NCAA league last year, and Chase Simon, who spent the last season in Lithuania. He is a good shooter who regularly scored more than 20 points in the preseason. The first solution for the position of the play might be another American, Chaisson Allen, who might be remembered by the fans in Zadar. Of the Polish newcomers, Marcin Nowakowski has left the best impression. He can play on positions one and two. 

Tactic hasn't changed much under the new coach, judging by their preseason achievements. They mostly played games with a lot of points, at a faster pace, with shorter offenses and they mostly lost against Polish first league teams. For example, Rosa scored 89 points against them, Anwil 88, Trefl also 88, and weak Kotwica 92. Mentioned American signings will obviously be in charge, they don't have a lot of width, not physical strength in the paint. 

Fitzgerald talked about their today's opponent:

- I think Rosa is a very good team. They have good players who make a great team. The most important thing for us is to disturb their offensive plans with an aggressive defense. 

Two teams with similar playing styles are meeting each other already in the opening week of Poland's elite basketball competition. They are very offense-minded teams who have faced one another twice in the preseason, and fast-paced, run-and-gun basketball was on display on both occasions. Their defenses, however, are much weaker. Tarnobrzeg won 90-73 at home, and lost at Radom 71-89. It should be pointed out that Rosa's two top scorers didn't play in those games. Last season these teams met in four league games and none of those ended below 160 points. Tarnobrzeg mostly played high-scoring games in the preseason and were unconvincing in the defense. For example, they allowed 92 points to Kotwice, 88 to Trefl, 88 to Anwil... This is a team in which several US players are given full rein, they tend to play short attacks and rely on outside shooting. This kind of approach certainly suits the home team and an attractive game of basketball can be expected here.
