The Devils celebrated all three times this season

Even though the Devils are officially the home team, this game is played out in the open, on the New York Yankees stadium

After a convincing win against St Louis, New Jersey Devils managed to get another one, and perhaps even more important win, against the division rivals Capitals. The situation in the Metropolitan division is heated up, eight teams are in the range of three points at the moment, and we don't even have to mention how important each point is for all of those teams.

As expected, there weren't many goals in the match against the Capitals. Both teams could do great with one point, but only the Devils got it this time. They took the lead thanks to Stephen Gionte's goal with Jaromir Jagra's assistance, and the same player assisted Adam Henrique in a powerplay for 2-0. Caps only managed to abate the defeat. The Devils' goalie had an important role, obviously. Cory Schneider tended the goal in the last match and got 30 saves. Devils show they have two equally good goalies once again this year.

- Cory was great at the goal, he's the one who made the difference - Devils coach Peter DeBoer praised his goalie. 

The only one he won't be able to count on today is the defenseman Peter Harrold.

Unlike the Devils who are in a series of two wins, it's a whole different story with the Rangers. They celebrated in six out of seven last matches, but in the last two, they simply weren't up to it. First their city rivals, the Islanders, defeated them, at home, and then the same thing happened when they hosted the Blues.

In that match, the Rangers were more active in the offense than their opponents. Blues took the lead in the middle of the first period, but Rich Nash evened out the score by the end of the second period. You could tell even then that the details will decide the game, and that's what happened at the beginning of the third period when the Blues used the powerplay. That goal was the only powerplay goal that evening, and it ended up being the one that decided things.

- For the first time in a long while, I can say our powerplay didn't serve us, we just couldn't come up with a good action. They scored one for themselves, and that's why they won the game - Rangers forward Brad Richards commented the situation in the last match.

Only Derek Dorsett will be missing in the Rangers lines. He's been injured for a while. Rangers are a home team in this match because it's played on the Yankees stadium.
