Salzburg - Austria Vienna (4:0)
Handicap -1.5 tip: 2   Toni
Odds Stake Min. odds Bookmaker
2.01 4/10 - Pinnacle
Salzburg will be the champion of Austria at the end of the season because they have a bigger budget and the most quality when it comes to players, but today's odds offered for their win against the current Austrian champion are a big underestimation of the Vienna guests. It's true they've fallen two times against the leading Salzburg this season, and lost 1-5, and 1-2, but we've seen both matches, and Austria weren't as bad as the results would suggest. Both times, the game was decided with goals in the first minutes of the second half-time, 3-1 the first time, 2-1 the second time, and Austria had a few unrealized chances, especially in Vienna, where they deserved at least a point.
That's what happened in the first two matches, and Salzburg as they are today aren't as significant as it might seem, because even if they lose, their advantage and quality are enough to end the championship calmly. Of course, no need to doubt the leaders' desire to win one more time on their own stadium this year, but Austria are more motivated because they're facing a big battle against Rapid for the second position in the spring, and every point is very important for the Vienna team.
Defeating Zenit 4-1 in the Champions League, Austria proved they can play tough even against the extremely strong rivals, and coach Bjelica can be very happy about the forwards Hosiner and Kienast's shape, they played as they were expected lately. Bjelica formed a great game by the purple shirts, you can see it when five or even seven players go to counterattacks coordinated well, and Vienna's defense is also very secure - they only conceded more than one goal once in the nine championship games. It's misfortune that it happened in the away game against Salzburg, but those 1-5 were an exception, not a rule.
Salzburg can be treated as a favorite in this game, even without their best player and striker, Sorian, who scored 12 goals, and has had an aductor injury issues for weeks, but all the announcements from the Vienna's team suggest that Austria will fight hard for the positive result. It also should be noted that Salzburg played against Esbjerg on Thursday, and Austria a day before against Zenit. Finally, we'll draft our bet with the possibility of guests' defeat with one goal difference.
So, we're keeping the odds that Austria might go undefeated, but the handicap of them not losing with two or more goals of difference is today's pick from the elite Austrian ranking.
