This margin against Poland has to be bet on. The last time the Poles conceded more than this in an official game was in April 2012 in Olympic qualifiers when they were outdone by the Spaniards (33-22). After that they played 15 official games, leaving all opponents under and they conceded 25 in only 3 games. Including the friendly and pre-season games, they have conceded over this margin twice in last 28 games - 29 against Sweden and Belarus. The French and always the same, they demand respect but the fact is that this team no longer seems as powerful as they did 3-4 years ago. It's true they have the quality to fight for the medals but I doubt they will crush the Poles here. In addition, the French are known as slow starters and 35 goals against Russia shouldn't fool anyone. The difference between the Russian and the Polish defense is enormous. Onesta is aware the points from this game will probably be transferred into Round 2 and we will probably not see a rhapsody here. A defeat will see Poland lose any chance of getting a noticeable result and they will push their defense to its limits. They have shown what this looks like in last preparatory games when they limited the Czechs and the Hungarians to 23 goals and two days ago when they limited Serbia to 20. BIegler was unhappy with many errors his players have shown in the defense in the first half but they only conceded 7 goals in the second half. It's hard to imagine the French coming near 30 goals as this could be a real trench war.
