Today's game will be the clash of the second and the third best defense in the league, right behind Dijon. This is also an important game in the play-of battle, especially for the hosts who have been in great form lately. ASVEL have won 10 out of last 13 league games but are still paying the price for their poor start of the season and are on the verge of the play-off zone. Defense is the strong side of Vincent's team as ASVEL have allowed more than 70 goals in regular time in only 2 out of last 11 games, 77 against Nancy (some 10 points in last minute) and 78 against Chalon (the best attacking team in the league). Le Mans have a weaker offense then both teams, they score 72.7 points per game and I don't see them going over 75 points here. In two games played on this court this season, Le Mans have gotten two wins, but they scored 63 and 64 points. Considering the importance of the game, it could be decided with under 70 points for both teams and since I think ASVEL have a good chance, an under for the home team is the best option. Le Mans have recently lost against Nancy in the Cup by 59-49, they defeated Dijon by 74-56 but still stayed under this margin. On the other hand, ASVEL were defeated in the Cup against Dijon by 64-56, after 25 points allowed in the first period. I expect a similar story to unfold today.
